So as far as I got it, laners were abusing the support items for extra income.
And to change that RIOT... made the first tiers of the items even MORE valuable by giving them free wards while just deleting the Tier 3 versions that non-supports never bothered with anyway?

The current health nerf is not in relation to that but becuase of the domination of tank supports in the current meta (don't ask me about my opinion). The abuse cases is something different that is going to be looked at within the next 2 or 3 patches.

Nope. They changed it because support players wanted to have better ability to opt into real items rather then the sight stone. Both things don't have anything to do with each other.

They were going to bring back these items in form of full items. Twin shadows is already back on PBE, shurelia#s reverie is next and (most likely) old FotM somewhen later.
Please don't confuse different aspects of support changes with missing context. It is not the way you thought it is.

honestly as a support secondary i HATE these changes losing
is a huge slap to the face and almost as bad is losing the 20% item cdr on ruby sightstone.

Riot also said Shurelya's Reverie is coming back to replace 
within due time as well (which IIRC he said was going to be 8.6), but we're not getting a replacement for

I feel like all of this shit was rushed, and if we weren't going to do it with preseason, it should've waited until midseason instead of coming out of the blue after the season had already started.

twin shadows has 60 ap and would be my new and now instead of getting ruby sightstone with 500 hp and 20% item cdr and the speed boost on i get my new "eye of frost" which is 15 ap... and upgrading it is complete trash..

Top lane Nasus occasionally builds Talisman of Ascension for the AoE speed boost, along with the income abusal.
