I would like to recommend matchmaking "block list" if you will. Sometimes I get matched with people I've been matched with before and they are either always toxic and always afk or are verbally abusive. In my recommendation a player would be able to avoid queuing matchmaking games with users in their "blocked users" list. This would not only increase the effectiveness and overall enjoyment of games but would also help weed out the troll players in the community.
NoMonku2 votesThe problem with this is abuse cases. More so in higher levels of play. All you would have to do is block specific players you don't like or think are bad and then you get a team you like or is incredibly stacked making it easy for you to win.
Halloran1 votesI don't think the abuse cases would be any better or worse than those who blindly report others for verbal abuse just to troll their account. There is no checks and balances system and all the punishments are handled by the "tribunal" or "automated computer server". Even if you blocked 1000 user accounts in a year it would not affect your chances of still getting a bad or toxic player. I mean there are millions of people worldwide that play this game and new accounts are created every day.
Even if that was Riot's main concern then they could still implement the system but maybe just have a restriction on the number of people you are allowed to block at any given time. Or better yet they could make a crap ton of money by charging RP to add people to a personal blocked matchmaking list. Just my $.02
NoMonku1 votesThis sounds like a HORRIBLE idea. Maybe you are at a level where blocking a few people doesn't increase your queue time drastically, but for me it would make it a few minutes longer. I personally don't feel like waiting longer in queue. Also I would mainly use it as a "oh, Halloran sucked last game, time to add him to blocklist so I won't play w/ him again" or something similar. I would use it for its intended purpose, but I've found using the mute button works just as well for toxic people.
Halloran1 votesIf the block list had a limitation or it cost RP then you would think twice about blindly adding people just because your emotions got the best of you. I realize that sometimes people have bad games but there is a distinction between people who have bad games and people who die once then AFK in the fountain.
Muting verbally abusive players does the job quite well indeed. However, having someone who refuses to leave the jungle all game or intentionally feeds or leaves the game deserve to be permanently blocked... ESPECIALLY if you encounter the same person twice in different games and they act the EXACT same way.
I seriously don't think your queue time would increase at all considering the millions of people that play any given day. Blocking even a hundred people wouldn't even be a drop in the bucket.
