No champion is safe

You have been warned. Riot doesn't care about the community, they do as they please. Today it's veigar, tomorrow it's anivia or some irrelevant champ that I tend to enjoy because fk the meta. Stop ruining champs just because you have no idea how to balance the rest so you fill up patch notes space.

The Veigar changes look quite good actually. He can now potentially get double stacks from his Q if aimed right, The range also increased meaning he can farm safer. His E change alot of people saw coming. Its a fair trade off for all the cool buffs his Q got.

Now Veigar players just have to be smarter about E placement instead of "Loledgedrop 0 counterplay stun"

There's a simple concept:

  1. Ranged is almost always superior to melee in league due to base stats being too similar.
  2. Most ranged spells are skillshots.
  3. The only way to dodge skillshots is by moving out of their way - with mobility.
  4. Champs with mobility can hit you at their choosing if you have less mobility, while its very hard to figth back. The only way to fight back is with extreme range to never even let them touch you, with mobility of your own, or point-and-click damage (point and click spells, autos).
  5. Champions with high skillshot dependence, low range and low mobility are thus terrible, because they get hit without being able to hit back.

Without looking at the numbers, Veigar is weaker, because he can no longer counter mobile champions, is short ranged, and immobile.

Some are safe. LeeSin has quiet steps.
