A few champions who are very close to being good
The donger is one off the most loved characters in league, yet he is one of the least viable. The nature of his kit gives him almost too much counterplay.
Heimerdinger will ruthlessly crush anyone who doesn't know how to deal with him, but if they DO know how to deal with him, Heimer will be pretty much useless and there is not much he can do against it.
Take Yasuo for instance. A low level Yasuo will get shoved under turret and fucked up the ass by donger. A high level Yasuo will realize that Heimerdinger is 100% projectile reliant, and proceed to dash through his turrets, instantly killing them due to their horrid defenses early game. If Heimer tries to contest with his rockets or grenades, he gets a windwall to the face.
Heimers best matchups are probably melee bruisers in toplane, but even against those, he will struggle if they pick up an early hexdrinker or blue hoodie.
Heimers main problem is that his turrets are far too easy to kill. He is the only summon reliant champion in the game whose summons are contestable on that level.
If Heimerdinger were given a new passive, one that actually helped him protect his turrets, he would be much better.
Illaoi is incredibly frustrating for a great many players. This, however, does not mean she is good.
She is completely immobile, has nearly 0 CC, and is almost completely reliant on skillshots, a large portion of which she cannot even aim herself.
None of these weaknesses should be fixed, as they are core to keeping her balanced.
Instead, there are two more weaknesses that cause Illaoi major issues.
First, her mana. Illaoi is a champion who straight up NEEDS to spam her spells to be effective, at any point in the game. Doing this will quickly exhaust her very limited mana pool. Until she picks up an iceborn (and she might never, depending on the enemy team), she will have mana issues.
Her mana costs do not need changes; those are fine. Her mana pool itself is the issue.
Second, her animations. I cannot tell you how many times I have been killed because of the delays on Illaois spells, and the clunky animations. When you do an E-R-W combo, there is about a 2 second delay from the start of the combo to when the tentacles actually start to swing. This is often long enough for a marksman to focus you down or a midlaner to burst you.
Not much to say here. You know he is bad, I know he is bad, we all know he is bad.
The thing is, he is actually really close to being a good pick.
His main weakness is something he says himself: "Death is the only escape"
If someone initiates a fight, Urgot is slow enough that he won't be leaving it, except in a body bag.
That said, a hypermobile crab is not a sight any of us want to see.
Maybe if his Terror Capacitor was changed to steal movement speed instead of just slow?
I am really not sure what to do with Urgot.
No one is sure what to do with Urgot.
He is Urgot.
