@Riot Why is Teemo's ult of all moves completely disabled by a free item?

I know that Teemo's shrooms have always been a problematic part of League with it causing extreme frustration within the games Teemo is in and so fourth. However, I was wondering as to why Teemo's shrooms can simply be disabled by the oracle lens which is a mere upgrade from the trinket lens. The lens has a rather short cooldown period and by simply activating it within a teamfight - Teemo's shrooms can be completely disabled and avoided (let alone destroyed within three hits).

A whole team can easily clear a "minefield" of Teemo's shrooms when even one player activates an oracle lens - which completely negates Teemo's mushrooms (which have already had their ap ratios completely nerfed from the past as well as lost half of their timer durations last year). My issue with this is that the item completely negates a champion's entire ult of all moves and it may easily be one of many reasons as to why Teemo is hardly seen as a serious pick within the community (aside from the "lel satan" jokes which are understood from how terrifying Teemo was in the past).

As a result, Teemo just feels very lackluster and has very little purpose or niche in the game at this point of time. His map control presence was lost while his abilities have pretty much been nerfed till last patch where he received his very first true buffs since season 1 (which were mana cost reductions). If Teemo's mushrooms are so problematic to the game - shouldn't he get reworked so he's in a healthier state as opposed to having his ultimate move of all his kit completely negated by a simple lens item?

And yes, despite being a Teemo player myself - I know how incredibly frustrating it is to fight Teemo which makes me question as to why he hasn't been reworked yet to be a healthier champion considering how popular he is. He's lackluster and his ult can simply be turned off by the switch of a button which really destroys his "set-up" playstyle he's meant to have. At least in Shaco and Jhin's defense - their traps are not their ults (their strongest moves) while stealth champions even got buffed from the oracle's recently by not being completely revealed). So why is Teemo left in this state?

I'd really love to hear a Rioter's point of view as to what they think of Teemo and in regards to his ult in the current state it is in. I'd love to play Teemo as I adore his lore and appearance as an adorable little Yordle soldier/scout; however, his kit seems to have taken heavy hits in the past and his shrooms being revealed so easily and destroyed is just disappointing especially when it comes to getting objectives or fighting opponents in game.

Teemo

We may all hate the little devil; however, I feel he just needs more justice than to just be treated as a joke long left to rot like this. His winrate hasn't been the best as of lately and I feel there is so much more this champion can bring much like the reworked Tristana and Poppy did when they got their visual updates.

Edit: For further reference, high level players such as Ivan Pavlov have made threads similar in context about how easily Teemo's shrooms can be disabled such as in the thread linked here:

Unfortunately, to not have an easy way to detect his traps would break him since they do so much damage. He would need a rework on his ult just to be able to actually even him out, however he's too iconic to simply rework.

Perhaps try fighting them while they attempt to clear the traps? It's like how pros always need support to kill a pink ward, when you're exposed trying to take such a small objective, the enemy team can capitalize if you're not careful.

I think it'd be fair if the sweepers REVEALED the traps, but didn't disable them. Like, you could see where they were (that red mist stuff), but not destroy them or just walk over them.

It provides counterplay

If they end up doing assassins next I really hope they put this little guy in for an update. He needs it for more than just the sweeper reason you stated.

Because it's not free.
