Balancing ranked

Could riot put in some kind of system that allows players to not be penalized from disconnects on their team? In ranked if a player on your team disconnects for 10 minutes or longer then you are at a substantial disadvantage. is there any way that riot can simply lower the amount of Lp lossed or remove the match all together as a loss. After a single player on your team is disconnected from the game for 10 minutes or longer then the game no longer counts as a loss or the loss of Lp from losing that game is reduced by a large amount.

The system already makes up for this.

As long as you are not the person AFK/DCing, the enemy team has a higher chance of it happening to them; therefore, over long enough series of games, you will win more than lose due to them.

Wouldn't people exploit this? People would A. DC intentionally to mitigate LP loss from a bad match, or B. feel a greater incentive to research and implement drop hacking methods. I feel like punishing people who frequently disconnect is the right approach.

I just love how I win a hard fought game and get 4 points, but lose a game where there is an AFK and a troll feeder and lose 22 points. WTF Riot?

well the system can do that, doesn't mean it will reduce how much MMR you will lose which will just make you gain pitiful amounts of LP later on and lose massive amounts of it

Regardless of what the attribution should be, if a system is supposed to be designed to allow you to show your skill and ability as a player a match doesn't matter if a portion of your team is missing for a large chunk of a match. It isn't a level playing field if you start teh match at a disadvantage. You can't even say that you should play better as a team because the person missing could be the only tank or the main source of damage and your whole team comp is now useless because of their absence. The only thing that high elo players will say is that it happens and either you play way better than you actually are or you lose. So why can't there be something small put in place even if that small thing is you can't be demoted if someone on your team disconnects. Disconnecting players seems like an easily avoidable automatic loss of LP and i think riot should do something about it. While a small number of people will find a way to exploit it, the game as a whole will be made better by it because you will be able to play this team game and not have to worry about a portion of your team being missing and you being penalized for their absence.
