[6.9] Massive Win Rate Drop for Melee AS Junglers

These junglers suffered massive drops to their win rate in patch 6.9:

Aatrox: 43.33% current win rate from 51.91% in patch 6.8 -----> 8.58% drop. Jax: 45.65% current win rate from 52.46% in patch 6.8 -----> 6.81% drop. XinZhao: 45.88% current win rate from 52.62% in patch 6.8 -----> 6.74% drop. MasterYi: 43.2% current win rate from 49.71% in patch 6.8 -----> 6.51% drop.

and to a lesser extent:

Tryndamere: 44.53% current win rate from 48.83% in patch 6.8 -----> 4.3% drop. Udyr: 46.61% current win rate from 49.4% in patch 6.8 -----> 2.79% drop.

The fact that all of these junglers suddenly had such massive drops in win rate can be traced back to the replacement of Devourer with the far inferior Bloodrazor, and the utter gutting of Guinsoo's Rageblade stat- and cost-wise. Personally, I actually AGREE with the 6.9 changes, since the Devourer-Rageblade combo was just way too efficient for its cost.

However, what bothers me is that these champions actually NEEDED such a broken item combo to be viable in the first place. For some of them, they were even NERFED because of that item combo.

However you look at it, now that the Devourer-Rageblade combo has been utterly and permanently destroyed, it's time to buff/rework these champions.

A lot of the people in the boards seem to hate these champions and want them nerfed even more, but the numbers speak for themselves. These champions are weak and in a very bad spot. The only three champions in a worse spot than these junglers are VladimirSwainCassiopeia, mages that were actually reworked in this patch and have understandably low win rates due to the relearning period and the undertuned stats.

But if you're a jungler, why aren't you playing Nid, Kindred and Graves exclusively like big daddy Rito wants you to.

With the exception of MasterYi, most of these champions still have a viable top lane that while not exceptional or great is tolerable enough given that most of these guys are carries of the hyper variety.

I'd be hesitant to add buffs to champions that can snowball really well. I'd personally be upset with even yi buffs and he arguably needs them the most.

As for the bloodrazer, i personally like it but I know that it isn't a replacement for Devourer, not at all.

If we want to make these junglers win more games i guess the best solution would be to create an item that had has a similar ability to Devourer. Something like:

10 AD 15% AS UNIQUE passive: AFK FARMING - Every large monster kill will grant a stack of AF. Each stack of AF will grant 1 AD and 1% AS. Capped at 30 stacks. At Capped AF, Large monsters kills give an additional 30 gold.

It doesn't have to be exactly that. just throwing out ideas.

Aatrox: 50.77% top lane win rate Tryndamere: 49.02% top lane win rate Jax: 46.38% top lane win rate XinZhao: 43.86% top lane win rate MasterYiUdyr: Not played enough in top lane to get reliable data.

These numbers show that their top lane viability isn't much (or at all) better than their jungle viability. Only Aatrox is somewhat viable in the top lane.

Also, every champion can snowball. It's just that these champions have really bad reputations for snowballing, which is why they get a lot of hate. In reality though, these champions more often than not (according to the numbers), never get to snowball at all because they are quite easily shut down.

Therein lies the problem. We have these super linear and predictable, easy-to-shut down older champions with reputations of snowballing that get them a lot of hate and nerfs. Thus, their win rates are near rock bottom.

The obvious solution to this problem would be to either buff the champions, or rework them into viable picks again. Creating an item to cover the inherent weakness of these champions would just make another Guinsoo's Rageblade scenario, where the item would be abused by actual viable champions and then they would become OP.

Udyr was already crap tbh. No dashes, not jumps, super kitable, just a not very great champ and everything that made him 'ok' was nerfed into freakin oblivion. He lost 60% of his level 1 damage as phoenix so his clear is actually similar in speed to tiger. Tiger is his highest winrate atm and is super super super super risky as it's an autolose after a certain point in the game. He can still build all 3 other jungle items, but he needs some of his R nerfs backed off on to give him a LITTLE bit more power back but he's not too off. The build people are going with is still garbage and has been nerfed into oblivion.

I agree. Devourer-Rageblade, and then later on Runic Echoes-Rageblade had once made him pick/ban, so he was nerfed to oblivion. Now that all of those items have been nerfed too, Udyr is left desperately needing a buff/rework. The same goes for a lot of the champions I mentioned.
