I don't understand these Nasus changes.

Edit: I'm mainly talking about giving him a 50% reduced cooldown on Siphoning Strike whenever he uses his ultimate. The Spirit Fire changes are explained nicely. http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/patch/patch-715-notes

All this does is over-reward him for refusing to interact with his lane opponent and reaching level 6 as fast as possible. He still will be garbage if he's set behind, but now he's even more oppressive if his duo jungler gives him a kill. These changes just turn him into a "win-more" type of champion.

What they should really do is give him the means to obtain a powerful late game through tactical skirmishes against his enemy laner. I believe this was what Riot intended when they changed Veigar, allowing him to obtain free ability power by poking his opponents. This way, the lane doesn't feel like a boring farming simulator until he's able to 1-shot someone.

I don't have a perfect answer as to what a "pro-interaction" change to Nasus would be, but I'd try something along the lines of increasing his lifesteal against champions and halving/removing it against minions. This way, he can't just sit around and farm all lane, but will have a much better chance of trading favorably with his opponents.

While I won't defend the changes, he's not going to be using his ult to gain a sudden burst in farm. That would be idiotic for him to do.

Actually, they stated their intentions. They want him to be more effective versus the front line.

I'm glad the devs don't only listen to the boards. Nasus has been garbage tier with clear strengths and weaknesses in a league run by jack of all trade mobile generalists.

Let him be strong for once.

The other problem is that they load sooo much power in his ult. Nasus ult has always been extremely powerful: scaling resistances (used to be Ad), % max health magic damage, hp and attack range.

But it somewhat makes sense as he's now even more of an all in champion that gets pushed around and harassed earlygame until he has the power to hard all in his opponent. Idk, it's still kinda "broken with ult, eh without"

Probably they pre-balancing for pre-season. Given Nasus gets most his power from stacks, so Nasus tends to have 20% cdr in runes. If not more given how important those early stacks are. As this seems to be rehauled into a single rune that gives scaling 10%, Nasus is expected to become useless when pre-season hits. So instead of reworking him then, they are slipping in gradual changes over time so the community doesn't freak the f out come Runeday.

I'm expecting the Nasus changes to be extremely favorable to him making him way more effective with an easy function in teamfights just bashing and sustaining off the frontline. AND his 1v1 will be far stronger as well. I'm actually hedging it'll be too much.

The Veigar analogy is bad though because in practice he still doesn't truly interact with his opponent being ranged. With getting AP from enemy hits there's hardly a question for using it to poke given you will land it. So playing Veigar now there's extremely little strategic decision making going on I just keep the lane slightly pulled stay safe and Q their life and minions as much as possible. It's pretty relaxing though so I enjoy it. And ofc the melee world is different.

Lets make his splitpushing even stronger, even though other champs do it better and can still teamfight, and ignore his team fighting problems.

interact with a cheeser before level 6? the fk? like everyone i ever play against as nasus usually has fervor or too strong of an early game anyways. you're whining about the wrong thing of this change really. because you're a renekton, makes you a bro, ill let you in on the real problem with this change. this will allow me to solo baron if i have triforce and bork before 20 minutes. i already duo it if i have those items, but this cdr buff will make it too easy. im gunna be farming myself a pair of crocks, while i outscale the reptile every time.

It's not exactly hard to understand. They want him to be a better duelist when he has his ult.

And given how weak he's been lately, it's not exactly hard to see why.
