I que Jg/top and after someone dodged in a lobby where I got jg, naturally, I got autofilled sup the next one.

Here is the funny thing... Our jungle was actually ADC/sup and got autofilled jg, Our top was also autofilled (what a surprise), and guess what... also plays sup, ADC/sup.

How the !@#$ do I get in a lobby with autofilled jg AND top who are both sup offrole but I'm the one filled sup ?

Needless to say we got lucky with our main roles and we swapped around reducing the lobby players to only 1 autofilled + 1 offrole instead of the initial 3 autofilled. There shouldn't be lobbies with 3 autofilled players lol. Just remove that !@#$ pls.... Doesn't make any sense.

Many people say there are autofilled when they don't get first role but second role. Also: don't go into a game after someone dodged. It's 90% Autofill. Better decline and restart queue.

I don't understand why they make it that way. It's like the system thinks you were all the time in queue after somone dodged. Like "OMG he is waiting since 3 minutes!! Better put him into a game fast even when it's autofill!!" That's why you often get INSTANT invite after someone dodged. So fast you can't even restart queue. It's so idiotic. Why not just restart queue automatically?? No one wants to play autofill!!

They were AUTOFILLED, I specifically asked them what roles do they play, main/off, because I got curious as to how this fiesta happened in the first place. They both play ADC/SUP and I play jg/top.

When I told them I play jg/top they both wanted to swap with me lol. I didn't want to post the whole chat, we were typing a lot in the lobby due to the autofill shenanigans.

I always reset queue whenever I get match decline, also, just to avoid 2nd role/autofill I keep the queue under 1 min (unless if I'm not solo'd), I really wish more people did this

Yep. I do the same. But i can wait until 1:40 to reset queue. Before that I get first role every time (jungle EUW).

I can barely wait till 1:00, it HAS to be under 1:00, eactly reset at 0:59, otherwise I get instant fill. How do I know this? Persona experience. It's really strict on me in solo queue.

I think that Riot should implement an "opt out" solution for auto fill. By opting out of auto fill you would agree to longer queue times for your desired roles. It will allow the player to decide if they want to wait a longer period of time and guarantee their roles or flip the coin and hope they get their roles. I think it's a simple solution that would be super easy to implement. I know the rebuttle is that everyone would opt out and no one would get into a game, but I really don't think that would be the case. Some people don't care about getting filled or choose fill as their desired role.

That seems like a simple yet effective solution. It could detrimentally effect queue times for both people opting in and out, but It's worthwhile to test out at the very least. I think another solution be to add a tertiary role. I'm a top/ jg main but at this point I'm pretty comfortable mid. I'd much rather go mid than go supp or ADC.

I would love an option to not get auto filled, even if it meant waiting a bit longer for a match. My problem is when I get jg, which is the only role I never learned to play. I'd also be happy with an option to choose one role I don't want to be put in, an 'Any role except.....' kind of thing.

90% would just put any role except support, and q times would get 5x longer. Now you wait 3 minutes then you would wait 15.

I would probably exclude Jungle myself.

However, with most of the player base not wanting to play either Jungle or Support, I could definitely see a problem...

Auto fill wouldn't have to go away, it would just be another pick option. As far as that goes, there have been quite a few games where I queued support secondary and still got filled to jg...

Thats probably happened cos some1 else got filled to support. Autofil was introduced for a reason and that reason was that almost no1 would queue for support. That is a fact you can look it up. Even when support are broken the roles playrate isnt anything to brag about.

Yesterday, I queued for Jungle/Mid and my friend for ADC/Top.

He got auto filled to jungle, and I got auto filled to ADC. lol

Had something like this happen to myself as well, 4 outa 5 people in a lobby were autofilled, they didnt get their main or their offroles just a random third alternative.

I think autofill has some weird hiccups from time to time.

i have had multiple games where 4 people are autofilled and one person was secondary roled so litearlly NO ONE got their main how is that even possible. after trading 4 of us were on our mains and one person was on their secondary. so literally no one need to be autofilled

Yeah, saving myself 30 seconds to get into champion select is totally worth having a bunch of players that got lost and queued up for ranked to extend my blowout losing games to 43 minutes instead of 20!

Autofill should not exist in ranked queues period. If ranked queues are there to play your best characters in your best roles, there straight up should not be a chance to just get pushed off what you queue for.

I disagree. I want to play the game competitively. I have no problem playing support once in a while to guarantee getting my main role most of the time. I understand that autofill is far better than the alternative, which is pick order.

Getting rid of autofill but keeping positional match making is a disaster of an idea. Think about what happens in this scenario. Mid laners will have ever increasing queues because there just aren't enough support players.

Autofill is staying, because the alternatives are worse.

Maybe you don't mind autofill, but a lot of people do. I surely don't mind it in normals but I don't want it in ranked because again, I don't want to play something other than the roles I explicitly set out to play and have practiced.

And no, pick order is not the only alternative. That's a stupid logical fallacy, you're trying to force a false dichotomy. Allow people to queue for different positions without autofill being in the game at all and WOW LOOK AT THAT, we're not back to pick order determining roles.

Yeah, allow mid lane to have a longer queue time. I like playing mid in ranked, I don't give a darn if my queue time goes up by a straight six minutes every time I queue if it means I won't be autofilled, and none of my teammates will be autofilled and play worse for it.

The alternatives aren't worse, they're just worse to you. You don't speak for the entire community, thanks.

I main mid, and play jungle slightly better than top, I used to make my positions mid/jungle, but I got jungle 3 games in a row. Switched to mid/top and got mid so many more times.

Well im so disagree with the whole autofilled thing and i think it should be removed from the game but this problem that u said never happened to me before in whole time im playing league i mean someone quene for jng and autofill top and also in same lobby someone who chosed top get autofill in jng? and btw why did u censored the names ? u know if u want to put a screen shot for prove it should not be edited at all even a dot. it should be fullscreen without editting containing client too. and i say again autofilled is so bullshit i agree but this problem u saying its kinda impossible and it never ever happened to me in 3 years of my league life.

Literally all of these complaints would be nonexistent if people played support every one in five games. Autofill is not going away, we've seen what the alternative was and it was worse. It's either autofill, pick order, or play the least popular role once in a while.

You forget there was a problem with matchmaking when that was going on. It wasn't the lack of supports, as League had never had that problem before, and we had dynamic queue for a while before it started happening. Their system was messed up, they added autofill and since then autofill has been messed up. It was a post launch technical issue, it wasn't because there were no supports. That said, of course there are less supports, but autofill wouldn't be a problem if it only activated when it needed to(excessive queue times), rather than giving someone autofilled support/jungle when there's actually a support/jungle main in the team. Also keep in mind I rarely get autofilled support now. I get autofilled jungle.
