doran's shield is a good start item for kata and akali ?

idk but i think the doran shield is better than boots , as kata akali u get poked to death especially if u are playing against azir or annie ( lane bully champs ) ... etc

It depends on the enemy though, if you for example go against an Ahri , something like that, range poke (Lux ) you go shield, anything else go with item 1001 or for damage item 1052
