Honestly feels like Riot is trying to kill League of Legends

I used to play TONS and TONS of league, non stop every day. I'd stay up some days even with school just because I enjoyed league so much. But in the recent months, I've just barely been playing, not because I hate league or because the game is boring, just that the current state feels dead, or at least dying.

I know what you guys are going to say, "League won't die anytime soon!" and downvote me. I know league won't die ANYTIME soon, and that just makes a big lose/lose situation with their current direction.

   _** "Gameplay"**_

I understand that runes will undergo balance right now, and I keep that in consideration, but that doesn't stop the sheer amounts of snowballing, faster games, and overall worse experience for the game as a whole. I haven't seen a single player ask for a faster game. I've seen faster ff's, but not faster games. A while ago, you used to have that bad game that you probably got bombed in and just wanted to move on to the next, but now every game feels like you got bombed and just want to ff and move to next. Good thing is you don't even need to ff now, because the game will end at ff time. I can't shout or scream enough about how BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD this fast game direction is. I haven't heard any logic or reasoning, there probably is some sort of crappy reason from Riot to make games end at 25 minutes though.

I miss the longer games where roles did THEIR job instead of me going into a game and playing a 17/3/3 ornn because he gets to deal tons and tons of max hp in an aoe while having CC with amplifiers. Why can't tanks be tanks, sustained damage sustained, defensive/utilities do their jobs, and so forth. Because it's really fun to give every role tons of everything so that they can carry themselves through the AWFUL ranked ladder.

If this keeps up, people will probably drop the game just as me. I come back for new content for very short bursts, and was going to come back and play preseason, but that leads to my second issue with the game's state.

"The Riot Progression Scam." As of preseason Riot has joined in with the looty-Gacha! style progression system. Is that always a bad thing? No. Is it now? Most definitely. People have been in an uproar about how awful the speed of progress is in the new system of BE and infinite levels. According to math on reddit, you will now go about 35% slower than before later on. Seeing this made me want to hurl and I only played 1 game of league when I got on, then got off again. I feel even less inspired to get back on after seeing that it'll take even LONGER to get the already tedious 6300 resource. It really does feel like a scam, and knowing Riot's behavior recently, I can tell we won't EVER get a truly faster progression like they promised us. Even through tons of complaining and CLEAR, DEFINITE proof of not being pleased with something, they will either guide us away from the fact that progression is garbage, or just band-aid it and hope that we stop complaining. Their response to anything will just be "we're putting all our resources into runes right now, wait till January."

"RGM" Riot keeps making new modes that are literally just ascension but with limited heroes and different ways to "ascend." We got Bloodmoon, now we get this project mode. I think if they're going to create a mode, it should not be a complete waste of time and should actually follow the theme. Hunt is pretty alright, it's fast (Like all league games are now hehe), and uses assassins so the depth of mechanical play isn't shallow. Project hunt is going to be right clicking marksmen 5v5, probably won't be nearly as fun, as marksmen lack the least mechanical depth in my opinion. A large portion of their skill and orbing/weaving attacks which can be applied to most other classes too.

We need modes like darkstar, doombots, and SG that truly are different and unique. We now have 3 different iterations of Ascension and 2 wasted themes. Riot made a marksmen only mode because they just wanted to enforce the limited champs again. Project could've used ALL THE PROJECT CHAMPS but no, having a ton of adcs on a project map will fit the theme more, don't forget to sprinkle some take small objectives for more score and constant fighting, with a big stat buff for getting objectives and we're all good.

I still have some faith in league, hope that they'll soon come to their senses but that BIG hope has waned over the months, and it only gets smaller with each turn Riot makes. The only people I can say are trying their best to please us is the skins team. I know saying fire rioters is stupid and obnoxious, but I can see why people do it when Riot pulls shit like this progression scam and another Ascension. Feels like they snuck it in with runes so we wouldn't notice, but we still did.

I ask for a faster game! Now is a lot more snowballing - which is a great thing than stay and farm 20 min, 2 teamfights and thats the game. I like the idea that champ be more powerfull in early to make game more intersting and not get bored!

Gotta cater to the kids with ADHD and keep pushing the joke that is esports. Can't get enough advertisements in 30 to 40 minute matches when broadcasting.

Damn shame the route league has been pushed down.
