So Midalee is a Thing

I just played two games as mid Nidalee and had the kda's 20/7/15 and 16/6/10. The first was against a Zilean (that should've been a win anyway) but the second was against a Yasuo... who kind of counters me since he has a passive shield and windwall.

And on the plus side, it feels amazing landing a spear as a fed Nidalee in Jhin because he has no mobility and has to limp away ^.^

Useless midlaner - no cc, no ranged waveclear, unreliable dmg, has to suicide for full combo. Works only vs someone who can't punish you for picking her. She is ok splitpusher and jungler.

So....I'm guessing you don't think Zed, Talon, or Katarina are good mid laners either?

Zed has more ranged waveclear than almost every mage.

I'm sorry....what?

You say Zed with one (small) AoE and one linear skillshot, has more wavclear then: Xerath Veigar Viktor Orianna Syndra Annie Anivia Heimerdinger Malzahar Morgana Lux And ziggs?

Seriously, what?

He has two waveclear abilities that he can double up on with his W. He has significant waveclear in his basic kit. Obviously he doesn't have the sheer strength of waveclear that actual waveclear mages have but even there he has the significant advantage that he doesn't ever need to take a break from clearing - he doesn't need blue, nor can he ever run out of mana. Zed has moderate, persistent waveclear that can come from extreme range.

Even if he can't stand up to people like Anivia he is worlds apart from every other melee assassin. "Lack of waveclear" is not a weakness that applies to him.

Im not sure what you mean, since Zed, Talon, and Katarina have all of those except CC.

They are all champions that in order to do their best waveclear, need to go into melee range. A nidalee has a lot of good waveclear; it's just in cat form, which means you can waveclear under tower well, and push a lane well if you need to

actually, nida used to counter yasuo back when she was played mostly as a laner. She can pop the passive with AAs, and her cat-allin outrades him early on while she can sustain with her heal after trades.

Midalee is very matchup/teamcomp dependend and relys alot on snowballing.

Not bad, but Nidalee can play anywhere. However, that Yasuo was probably not very good.

He got a kill pre-6 off on a gank from their lee, but after that I sat back far enough and dodged enough tornadoes that he was forced to roam. Once he did that I was able to push and catch up in farm, then follow up the roams better than he could with the spears and cat mobility. Kills lead to more kills, and eventually I could one shot him with my combo if his tornado was down.

lol! I still don't understand why Yasuo would roam and not farm. Nidalee is the one who roams... that sounds like a VERY confusing game!

Midalee has always been a thing... she has been played Top, Jungle, and Mid very frequently and can be played in ADC somewhat.

Yasuo doesn't counter you because he has the passive shield, he counters you because you're completely reliant through harassing him with autoes (nid spears are too easy to dodge and he out trades your cougar form because tornado), and Yasuo with LS quints and two Dorans can just out sustain your autoes. He wins any sort of all in, because he has an actual combat ultimate, and also scales much better so passive farming isn't useful.

Yasuo beats mid laners who are reliant on easy to dodge skillshots, and have no utility to offer their team in case they lose the lane or go even. It's similar to Nasus. He will outscale you unless you have something to actually kill his back line or any way to help your own team.

The passive shield does help but generally by the tie you get the second Dorans (which can be like 5 minutes after laning), you're fucked in the lane anyways, unless he's garbage.

as a nidalee mid main.. i know the vs yasuo matchup very well.. while i haven't played nid mid since july. i can say that although yasuo DOES counter nid. he ONLY counters her if the yasuo knows how to use the knockup on the dash. if the yasuo does NOT do that he will lose every time. i can say that i have a 90% win rate vs yasuo who does not use knockup on dash, and a 90% loss rate vs yasuo who DO use knockup on the dash. its not somthing you see yasuo use very often. so picking nid vs yasuo is always interesting... if they dont know to use the knockup on the dash.. you pretty much got a guarenteed win.. if they do however. you pretty much screwed.

I've lost countless games with Nidalee mid in my team - the enemies fastpush and siege while we lack waveclear. Nida can only throw spears and gets bursted, if she tries to jump in the teamfights.
