Riot, can you please do something about the smurfs?

I am not exactly sure how to even go about dealing with this problem, but on my main, I reached the upper levels of gold fairly quickly last season. I stopped around gold 2, and more or less just went back to normals with my friends.

This season however. I don't know if it is a stroke of bad luck, or what, but I have run into smurfs from plat 2 and above. Just this last game, I played against a caitlyn who was boosting his friends account. Admitted to the account not being his and even invited his team mates to join him on his main which, when I looked it up, was diamond 2 across the board.

Now.. a very large portion of my games involve getting these smurfs and elo-boosters. It is beyond unfair. This adds a touch of luck into the ranking system that should not exist. While I am not trying to be some LCS pro, and ranks don't mean too much to me, I do want to get gold each season, just for the ability to get the victorious skin. I'm on game 250 or so, and have been into my promos into s1 at least 4 times.

So I am pleading with you, the creators of one of my favorite games, which I have been playing since the beginning of season 1, and at the end of beta... Can you figure out some way to make it harder on those smurfs? Maybe an automatic algorithm that detects a sudden increase in their playstyle would be a good start. Make it so if that increase is seen, then there is a flag put onto the account for someone in Riot to check over and see if they are boosting or smurfing and do something to either match them appropriately, sooner, or ban them if they are deemed to be boosters?

how in the world can they know who's smurfing? they would have to identify the human being on the account

Boosting they can find by champs and ip. Snuffing however they can't stop. They don't know how many people are off one ip. Nothing wrong with smurfibg

Ip addresses would change between accounts and like op said win ratios on certain champs would become prominent. But Live2LetDie is right, smurfing itself is not bad.
