Just Wanna Give My 2 Cents On Dynamic Queue...

First off, I wanna state that I play both dynamic que and solo que pretty equally, with a little more solo que being played recently.

Now, for my opinion.

I have played quite a few dynamic que games of 3s, 4s, and 5s and I have been to get a glimpse at the game Riot is trying to create. What i mean by this is that, those games that i played, were probably the most competitive and most fun games that I played. It felt like I was actually apart of a team and we were like discussing strategies and calling out plays like the lcs dudes do, and the games were even better when we got the solos to join comms with us. So I can see the vision Riot has for the game, and why they are so adamant about it. As i believe dynamic que can truly put the game in a better competitive state than it was before.

Now I am not saying dynamic is perfect, it has plenty of flaws. Que times are long due to the lack of support players, or just the matchmaking system in general trying to find players of the same mmr and group size as you. Legal boosting is also rampant in the lower elos, but less in the higher elos due to the restrictions they put on ranks a few patches ago in diamond and up, this also leads to the issue of did I really deserve this rank? Which i once again believe to be an issue more prevalent in the lower elos but not so much in the higher elos due to the fact that you can only que with 3s and even if the players you are playing with are really good, if you are trash you will still have difficulties climbing.

A few things i think need to be done are as follows:

Voice comms: while i know some people will disagree with this, I think honestly the implementation of voice comms into the game will help bring more success to dynamic que, and remove some of the alienation players feel when being that one solo in a group. Also, it allows for a more competitive setting.

Harsher restrictions need to be made on the lower elos just like there are in diamond. I see this as the only way to harshly cut back on legal boosting.

Lastly, some work needs to be done on the support role to make it a more attractive pick, as right now, support is the least desired and arguably least fun role in the game.

Let's discuss :)

if you're gonna downvote me, tell me why? Is it because I actually see some positives with dynamic que?

I don't know why people are downvoting this. It was well put together.

You're definitely on the right track with game embedded voice communication. The very fact that Riot would shove dynamic queue down our throats with the excuse that it encourages teamplay and yet refuse to install in-game voice communication is utterly ridiculous. It would immediately end about 90% of the isolation problem solo players have when they get stuck with premades. It would truly make things far more balanced than almost anything else they can do right now. Yet they won't, cause all their talk about trying to make things fair for solo players is more propoganda than goal at this point.

However, I would still prefer true solo queue over dynamic. The absolute best way to test skill in this game is the old ranked teams queue. Ranked teams eliminated random variables on your side so it was just you and 4 people you trusted taking advantage of your experience together and on the spot shot calling to outplay the tactics of the other team. The second best way is to test skill in this game is a true solo queue. True solo queue tests your mechanical skill, how well you can adapt to pretty much any given situation, and how well you can synergize with any teammates who come your way. Riot destroyed both and added by far the least competitive form of a ranked queue while claiming they wanted to make the game more competitive. Dynamic queue allows you to try to execute complex plans with only half your team on board, but the random variables might be doing something else. Individual mechanics mean no where near as much in dynamic as people are obviously getting boosted to higher elos just by having friends who are really good at the game. In addition to your team vs the enemy team, you also end up with a mini problem of premades vs non-premades on the same team. Dynamic queue is just no where near as competitive as ranked teams and solo queue.

I agree with some of your points and disagree with others. I do think that with old solo que, the rank you got was the rank you earned with your own blood, sweat, salt, and tears, but at the same time I don't think that if I got diamond three playing with others, that that means that I'm not a Diamond 3 Level player. There are many people who are good and probably deserve slightly better than there rank, but solo que demands that in order to climb, you have to hard carry every single game almost, and that in itself is very stressful. Mechanical skill still takes place along with teamwork being even a bigger factor in dynamic que, which is what i think riot wants, because this is a team game.

I know boosting exists a lot in mid plat and under, but that's because of loose restrictions on who you can play with. I think in time, riot will make dynamic que a more competitive and fair experience for everyone.
