LP gains and losses are determined by differences in MMR.

It either means that a) your MMR is lower than your actual rank. or b) you lost a match to a lower MMR team.

if that were true, I would win LP of equal or at least close to how much I loss. According to RIOT saying that ranked games are to be as close to your mmr level as affordably possible, this should be how it works, but it is not the case.

Ranked games are indeed supposed to be as close to your MMR as possible. But if your rank is higher than your MMR, you will lose more LP than you gain, because your rank is higher than it's supposed to be.

low mmr, it's trying to demote you. Just win a few ranked games and it will balance out
