We need more IP, and here are some suggestions.

Suggestion 1: make wins give 150 - 200 IP, depending on how long the game is. If the enemy team FF's, give 100 IP. 80 IP per game is simply way too small.

Suggestion 2: Give bonus first win of the day IP for every day you log in and win. 30/60/90/120/150/180. At the 7th Day, Give a huge IP bonus (500?).

We need more IP. Please riot just implement one of these.

Honestly, as frustrating as it is to farm IP for those 6300 champs, I'm kinda glad that everyone has to do it. With the recent exp buffs for playing pre-lvl30 in a premade, the fresh level 30s that hop into ranked don't know jack shit about how to play the game, and it's terrible for game health. By the time I hit 30, I was a functional high bronze/low silver tier player. Now, new lvl 30s don't even know better than to avoid level 1 tower dives.

If IP came as easily as exp does now, a similar problem would happen. You would get people with MASSIVE champion pools, but absolutely no skill in any of them, and this would create the same skill vacuum at the ~silver rank.

In my opinion, Riot needs to fix the way runes work. Buying runes and rune pages are complete shit. They detract from the experience incredibly and they are 100% stale. The only real decisions I make when choosing a rune page is whether or not I need the mr blues, or if I can afford to run CDR. That's literally the extent of the customization. I think a complete overhaul on runes would free up enough IP for most players to be happy with the IP gain rate.

Edit: I am a player that has unlocked virtually 100% of the free content (all champs, 20 rune pages, and all viable runes). Now that I only spend IP on champion shards for lvl 6 and 7 mastery (and to reroll into the new champs when they are released) I gain IP pretty quickly. You'd be surprised how fast that number goes up when you aren't constantly spending it on piddly shit like runes.

I think a good solution would be daily/ weekly quests. An example could be "Play 5 games with random champion that is free on the current week". Alternatively, it could be things like logging in everyday for example each day you get bonus IP for playing a game. It could scale like 50/70/90/110/130/150 and then maybe 250 IP + 50 RP?

i disagree. If you want more things just use RP to speed up the process. I think riot has been generous with IP bonuses

Suggestion 1 is terrible, because people often surrender right before their nexus explodes (or after getting aced or hearing "the enemy team has slain baron nashor"). So IP gains would be tied on whether the enemy care enough about your IP to slowly watch you kill their nexus rather than surrendering and saving themselves some time.

Im a season 1 casual player and I'm still not even close to owning all the champions

I would suggest "transmuting" exp gains that we no longer get at level 30 into IP at some ratio. Giving a benefit for being max level (more IP per game) would allow dedicated players the chance to earn more than 1 champion every three weeks, and could curtail "smurfing" to some degree simply by making the games played at Level 30 worth more.

The issue I see is that riot makes money off of skins, runes, wards, summoner icons, and champs. Riot also has seen how much revenue they get from people wanting to outright buy champs with RP rather than lp, so they stick to their guns.

Then you have games like smite, where for only $30 dollars, you can buy current and previous champs.

I can understand why riot would be hesitant to do this, mostly because I'm sure they get a large chunk of revenue from champs, but I do think they should either do what heroes of the storm do, which is to play a champ for free in a bot game, or bump up how much LP we get.

I know free rotation is meant to let us try the champ out, but I think either having every champ available in bots be a thing or bump up how much we get.

Suggestion 1 is a terrible idea. People would FF right before they lose just so the other team doesn't get as much IP. Tying winning so heavily to IP makes low elo and pre-30 even more toxic because people are fighting for IP for champs. Scaling IP happens already although it isn't as high as your suggestion.

Suggestion 2 is alright though.

Quests are the obvious fix. It would break up the monotony of using the same champ/role multiple times, encourage player to experience other champions which helps them improve with that champion as well as know how to play against them, and they could even have support quests to make queue times faster.

As hard as it maybe is to accept this but... LoL is a F2P game => they need to make money somewhere else. You want them to increase ip gains? Well that means they lose out on potential money because now people can buy champs easier with IP instead of RP and this might increase skin costs. This will get me downvoted to hell but I think prices are allright the way they are right now. Riot is a business so they will act like a business, profit is the goal just like everywhere else in the world.

just get rid of IP and make it where you can only get champs with RP and runes dont cost anything
