I'm gold. everywhere you go you hear, gold is trash, might as well be bronze or something crazy like that, all because they watch these huge lc$ streamers that tell them what to think. People are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Plat, Diamond, Master and challenger for a reason. Saying a gold player is as good as bronze is a damn lie. I have friends that are still silver yet i manage to climb to gold and still get called trash.

Heres what i think

Bronze = Bad Silver = Average Player (50 percent of players are silver!) Gold = Above Average, Not too good not too bad. Some people get boosted here. Plat = Good (Some get boosted here but most of it is pretty decent) Diamond = Great (2 percent of players!!!) Master & Challenger = Godlike

Bottom line; Everyone sucks at this game.

I'm in Diamond and people here suck nearly as much as down in Silver where I started a few seasons back.

ex-master tier player here, i don't agree with that way of thinking, since i started to play on NA with friends i met multiple gold players that do really well and don't recklessly play the game.

I find it stupid to try to use a player's rank as an excuse to judge their supposed game knowledge...

For instance, I am unranked so I obviously must know nothing... Even though I have been playing for quite some time..

I don't play ranked because I have obligations and I'd rather get a leave buster in norms than mess up a ranked players LP...plus I don't appreciate a lot of the toxicity I find in ranked when I do play.

I feel that you should take every persons opinion like you would a Gold player... Each person may have a valid point, especially about a build/champ/etc they have used before...

And yes, I am expecting downvotes to this comment because How dare this unranked talk about stuff he doesn't know...

Honestly the difference between a bronze player and a gold player isn't even a fraction of the difference between a diamond and challenger player. The skill difference between the top 2% and top .01% is just so massive it makes the climb between bronze and gold look like a joke. Hence why people call gold trash, you may statistically be above average but in reality you are nothing compared to the top. Its harsh but its true, I honestly kept telling myself I was shit at this game until like high plat, and low diamond still doesn't even make me good at this game.

I can barely tell the difference between Silver and Bronze players. They seem equally easy to play against and hard to play with.

Golds have better mechanics, but their decision making tends to vary.

Plats follow up on plays well and generally are easy to play with.

Anything above Diamond V seems to be on another level entirely. Much outplay and makes me feel bad. Every mistake is a lesson gg.

Gold is about the top 25% of players. Plat is about the top 10%. Diamond is about the top 2%.

Everyone in this divisions is above average. Congrats to everyone who has made it to these divisions. Fuck what the Challenger streamers say, you've done well. As long as you're not boosted in which case you suck

Bronze = so bad they need not tip the scale Silver = below average, you can get here by luck without really knowing how to play. 50% of silver is just stuck there because they can't get demoted Gold = below average to sllgihtly above average, lol seriously who the fuck were you kidding with this above average claim. Being better than bronze isn't anything noteworthy, just an excuse to skew Plat = Good Diamond = gooder Master & Challenger = great, there are shitters here as well

The sentiment is probably spread because all the top Challenger streamers joke about being boosted like every 5 minutes in their games, and call Master tier players trash when they smurf. But yeah, I agree that there is a significant difference between gold and bronze. It's just toxic to think otherwise.

There is the possibility (a very low possibility) that someone with less skill may get up in ranks simply due to the matchmaking RNG being in their favor and then get locked into that ranked with the tier system.

Think of it like the lottery. Very very few people win it but some actually do, just a fact, even with the crazy chances. Then think that even though they have millions of dollars it doesn't make them good at business or handling money/assets.

It's the same way here. Some people win the ELO lottery. In fact, I get matched vs those people a lot. Usually in the 5th tier of their league with brutally low MMR if they just didn't stop playing ranked when they hit their big rank.
