So the pinging of the ward/mandrake/whatever.

Why use a ping? What could be done instead is using the yellow ping's minimap circle animation both on the minimap and on the field. Treat it like a vocal radar of sorts. No sound needs to be emitted. It can if desired, but if it causes annoyances a simple "blip" every 2 seconds is more than enough. I don't have a PBE account so I can't respond to the thread but figured the idea was worth posting.
