Supports are slowly dying out

I already know ADC's are in a bad spot these days, but it also seems that supports are losing their edge as well. With the rising meta of AP mage bot lane such as Ziggs, Malzahar, Brand, Vel'Koz, Annie, AP sona (Yes Sona), Taliyah, etc, things are starting to get stale cause of how dominant they are. It might be just me, but when I see a lvl 2 Malzahar 100 to 0 a lucian full health also lvl 2, I kind of worry about the state of the game.

Instead of losing their edge, could it have something to do with autofill perhaps?

People that don't care for the support role but are forced to play it might not care for the traditional choices.

AP Sona has been a thing for many seasons. (I've personally been doing it since season 3.) Same with Brand, Annie, Zyra, Velkoz, etc. It's just that people are noticing it more and mimicking it. Even Melzahar support was a thing last season, he just wasn't popular.

^This. Too many non-support mains are just trying any FoTM crap like mages down there because it's what's currently trendy. I've seen plenty of Ziggs bots and Malzahar supports fall flat on their face.

Tbh winrate doesn't say much. It does not necessarily mean that, with your example, janna alone is able to overpower a top,mid laner or the enemy jgler. Although janna is really useful, in front of a ap mage burst champion, she won't be able to do much. Because a game consists of 5 roles, you cant possibly have a big difference in winrate between roles.

Wut?

If you can get through the level 1-5 cheese of the ap burst bot lane they fall off hard. Janna doesn't fall off even if she is behind because of her CC and peel - that's why her winrate is so consistent.

If you don't feed the first 5 levels or so vs a cheese lane, you'll probably win the lane.

Umm... my post isn't saying that janna is completely useless I'm saying that AP mage bot are just rising in the meta. I still play support and feel useful but not as much as preseason and etc. Also I don't believe they fall off at all as AP mages lvl 6 tend to be a huge power spike. The only way they fall off is if the person doesn't know how to play them well.
