Norms really arent worth playing with this matchmaking system.

Im a bronze player. I shouldnt be getting matched with Golds and up. Silver - maybe - but how is someone going to get better before they go in to ranked and risk their LP? I would use ranked as my learning tool - since it seems to be better at matching people you play with/against that are close to your skill level, but I get flamed for feeding and reported for doing that. I would use practice tool, but it only uses bots. bots dont help you get better at the game, i need to play actual games against people around my skill level to get better.

Another thing that bothers me is smurfs - so even if I wanted to learn in rank and there wasnt the flaming and reporting when i'm trying to learn, I still have had games where its like a gold or plat smurf in bronze literally just ruining my day and dumpstering me.

Why is this a thing? Why is the matchmaking system so incredibly far reaching in Norms? Why are smurfs allowed to happen? It seriously doesn't make sense to me. Why is there not an IP rule with accounts? Like one account per IP? Honestly, I've been thinking hat wouldnt be such a bad idea. It makes bans more serious and would help with people who leave games, troll, botting/boosters or smurfs - protecting the integrity of the game and allowing for people TO LEARN. There are other game modes to go have fun and mess around in which could totally allow for the wider spectrum of matchmaking skill levels. There's aram and the like. I personally think things like this are jut toxic and it pushes me away from enjoying the game. Playing league becomes less and less like a game where i can progress and more and more like a game where you never can grow or get better unless you just bite the bullet and accept that all these "riot fixable" things are just not going to change. The only argument I can think of for this is that some people enjoy smurfing - or how will a higher elo player be able to play with their friends. Honestly, the latter is a good one to think about, and my proposed solution to that is flex. Flex should be a way for you to team up with your friends and grow together, as I'm pretty sure that was the intention to begin with. maybe even adding a flex normals along with an IP account association.

This is just a poposed solution to what I think is one of the biggest problems in league as far as matchmaking goes, but I know Riot has probably thought about similar solutions but haven't done it. So, is this not a problem they are concerned with? Is it some type of moral stance they are taking with not limiting players to do what they want? I'm lost at this point. All I want to do is improve and get better but I feel completely incapable of growth at this point without pissing people off or just dying double digits in games with smurfs and higher elo players that are way better than me.

((after writing this i realised that i always solo queue....could that b why im gettign people way higher than me due to me not queuing with other players in my elo?))

Not really sure where to post this so im putting this in gameplay.

normal MMR and ranked MMR are two entirely different things. If you want to be matched with people around your skill lvl go play ranked. Normals is for people to screw around, have fun and try new things... while still trying to win and not troll obviously (if they troll report them). You can face people in challenger while playing normal games, simply because they just don't play normals that much and just go there to try out something new

Most of the “golds” I get stuck with, account shared to get boosted for the border and season rewards. Cuz if they are what gold players are skillwise, there is zero reason for me to still be in bronze.

I just report them under the cheating option and explain they account shared and move on.

That's not how ranked works. You are bronze anyway, what is there to risk? People don't care if you are bronze 1 or 5, you are still bronze to them. It can only get better the more you play. I don't play normals anymore for that reason, it's too unbalanced unless you wanna play around with people in your friendlist or whatever.

FYI - C0ldN00b (me) is unranked and has never had a rank for the entire account life. The rest of the fellas weren't far off.
