I cussed out someone who inted their lane and came to my lane and ran it down: only I was punished
Below is the original post as I was hesitant to put this on the regular boards.
I want to start this off by saying I'm fully aware of the ToS and of the policies of toxicity, however with me being the only person punished for this I find this a very failed policy as it encourages gameplay toxicity and punishes players who are justifiably upset when this happens but not the actual players who pull this. Objectively I would disagree with anyone who says - outside of the box of what Riot says is okay - that i am wrong for being upset or cussing them out. I go in to why in the video on the post.
I see no reason, if we are being fair here, why I'm the one who gets punished and they are not? In the video it clearly shows 2 separate games happening within 2 games of each other (2 of 3 games) where this happened, the latter of which I was chat restricted from the first and had no way of communicating.
I invite Riot to take a look at the chat logs from both of these games and post them here - as i would but do not know how to garner access to them.
Also note that on the video, someone left a comment that they literally go in to games SPECIFICALLY to troll to get people perma banned for cursing them out - justifiably as this (the in-game feeding/inting depicted in the video and what is described in the youtube comment) is such a toxic thing to do. I cannot stress enough how 1-sided this policy is and it needs to change. I am not alone on the Rant boards having these occurrences and it seems to me this is a problem that needs addressing from Riot beyond this bot system.
Let's also talk about what this does to players whom get punished for this: it absolutely cripples them in game. Say that player was in a better mood and said "hey, you know what, that person was absolutely a feeder and an inter and a troll last game - but if someone runs it down next game out of being upset, i'm gonna try to talk them down and get us back on track".....nope, cant do that, because you aren't allowed more than 8 sentences in the game for at least the next 18-25 hours of gameplay (assuming you play ranked or norms blind/draft exclusively). Meanwhile, the players that do this go unpunished with the current system.
I would hate to post this without proposing a solution to the problem, so...
1 solution I think would be helpful is to actually bring back the Tribunal as it is the only way that Riot can effectively do this. They cant pay people to do go through every game, but they CAN have a list of the most honored players for attitude, etc. be a representative tribunal from the community and rotate through said list to determine the punishments. This tribunal would get to see the replay and chat logs so they could see and correlate chat logs with timestamps to what actually happened. Granted, I'm not quite sure what happened originally to make Riot take the Tribunal away so I can't speak to its' flaws. That being said, it has to be better than the current system which opens the gates for trolls to actively get away with this stuff as they generally queue as a group or do not speak at all or very little with careful thought in what they say so as not to be flagged by the chatbot during game and just do their toxic thing. Leaving things like this to automation or actively not doing something to solve this problem is an issue for the game itself. This is not healthy for any gaming community to allow people like this in a competitive game - ESPECIALLY IN RANKED WHERE THIS HAPPENED (in my promos no less).
There are many other things I'd love to address, but most are addressed in the video (plus a tangent i went on about skins and champs being broken that i was just venting about), so I'm going to let the community pose the rest of the questions and kind of get other perspectives or thoughts about how to solve this issue and to show that this is not a rare occurrence. We cannot honestly say that League is at its lowest toxicity level anymore when this many occurrences happen.
I look forward to seeing what the community provides on this subject.
