"New accounts are $11 idc if I get banned."

Reynard the ƒox··66 votes·5,728 views

What's the answer to this? Someone said this to me earlier today in game, and it's so unbelievably frustrating because I know it's true. I can report and feel good for 'doing my part for the community' but then it doesn't matter because anyone can get banned and jump right back into ranked the next day, for the same price as a movie ticket.

It just... makes me sad that these people can ruin games for others over and over again with literally no fear of real consequences.

no bro you just made him spend 11$. good shit

Reynard the ƒox48 votes

Fuck yeah that's a whole week's allowance GG

Zmuecat15 votes

11 bucks once is nothing. 11 bucks over time is a lot. He'll either learn sooner and pay little to nothing, or learn later and pay a lot or stop playing.

On top of that, these boards frequently have people who say shit like that and come here crying they got banned. Report the assholes.

I love it when someone complains about how unfair their ban was, but in their chat log they claimed "lol go ahead and report idc"

I have 2 concerns. Who gets an $11 allowance? And where is this movie theater that only costs $11 a ticket. I can't bring my girl to a movie for under $30 (before snacks)

"Who gets an $11 allowance?" Young children. (Tags: explaining-the-joke)

I don't know where your $11 movie theatre would be found, but mine costs like eight dollars.

Rand0mH3r0X1 votes

Major name theaters, Regal, AMC, and some Cinemarks are no less than $13, and $15 Fri/Sat. In some neighborhoods, (those not in the city) the Cinemark might be $8-10, definitely $7.50 if you go before 3:00pm. Even with my student ID I can't get in for less than $10 anywhere.

Celeste Benal1 votes

Most of the NE USA. 8-10 is typical. 10 years ago the theater in Fairbanks, Alaska had $1 movie mondays. That place was packed every Monday night. They also had air hockey and foos-ball tables.

HexaDecimel2 votes

Unless you are looking for one that serves champagne, most theaters standard ticket prices are around $12.50, give or take a dollar or two.

7 to 9 $ here around Chicago. Maybe 11 in the city? Lower ping too ;)

HexaDecimel1 votes

I was using Alberta prices, and as for ping you are lucky but mine only went up to 65 so no real complaints :p

Celeste Benal1 votes

Ah Canadian dollars. That explains it.

ponkzy1 votes

where do you go to the movie theatres? a movie ticket in times square is $19 for a 3d movie and i believe that's the most expensive movie ticket i've ever bought

WarlockLaw1 votes

Seriously what kind of movie theatre are you going to? I've never seen tickets go above $12

Thats actually a pretty smart method then. bleed their wallets(or parent's) dry until they learn their lesson.

How would you bleed a parent's wallet dry with semi-occasional $11 purchases? Even if he buys a new account every week it's still like an hour of minimum wage work a week, he could go mow a lawn for that money.

rampaging poet7 votes

Time spent mowing a lawn is time not spent raging at people in League.

It's still toxic, but people are secretly afraid of getting banned and losing the last 3 years of Victorious skins.

Sadly plat does not mean good attitude, in normals plat does not guarantee good player in the chosen role.

I've been 2 week banned twice, what is the next level?

Once again, Permaban is a possibility, so clean up your act.

The answer for this is Riot needs to get a handle on botting in their game.

The reason these accounts are so plentiful and cheap is because people can run scripts to have accounts automatically level up in modes like 3v3 or Dominion.

Yormaughm2 votes

This is pretty true. Had a game with bots in it the other day I and I thought that shit was solved a long time ago.

Back when botting exploded the solution seemed to be "nerf Refer a Friend" now RAF is gone completely and bots still exist.

Pretty sure I voiced concerns that botting wasn't just happening because of RAF rewards back when that got addressed and it was so that people who were perma'd could just buy another account, looks like I was right, sadly.

WalkingInACircle4 votes

New accounts are free. Taking a month to level them to 30, getting back all the IP for runes and champions, and buying back every skin you own, is not.

IllllllIIIIlllll3 votes

level thirty accounts with around 20k ip and 400 rp market for around $10-$14

disregardable2 votes

Getting more IP costs a lot more money, though. I've spent like 140,000 IP on this account. Like I couldn't just give it up.

Reynard the ƒox2 votes

Normal people like you and I wouldn't, but these are ranked trolls we're talking about

500000000000000011 votes

They mean buying an account that someone else leveled, I think.

RogueWill2 votes

You can buy new accounts for that amount on ebay. Basically someone used a script and leveled it up all the way until level 30 and farm some IP on the process. That's the reason dominion is flowed with bots, people use them, level them up by keeping the pc on and make a quick buck.

Why would you even grind accounts for money? If you played 24/7 for a Week (even botting) you'd MAYBE get to level 30. That makes your hourly rate <1 Dollar.

Get a f*cking job you human pieces of garbage and make that much money in under an hour. I literally just work at the deli while I finish university, I usually buy something ~$400-500 once a fortnight (computer components, gear for recording music, etc) and spend any excess on RP, Food and Gym Membership. Not to mention I only have to work 2-3 days (15 hours) a week.

Why do people do this shit?

because if you bot it, presumably multibox it too, you don't even have to grind it, it just happens.

All they have to do is write a script that will bot it for them.

ShotHottie2 votes

:/ I know the feels. Just stay as strong as possible and just remember you are always taking the high road and being the bigger person by ignoring and reporting them.

Reynard the ƒox6 votes

Yeah :/ My ranked experience is usually pretty good, but it's just so shitty when one guy decides that all 5 of you are going to lose LP, and no amount of mechanics or warding or teamwork can change that. A loss that you can't even learn from is the worst experience in this game.

TheXtractor2 votes

IP bans maybe?

DrCyanide7 votes

And ban an entire college campus? There's a reason they stopped doing IP bans.

TheXtractor1 votes

That would suck, but im sure there is a way to work around that. Account bans are just worthless when you can make (or buy) a new account. IP bans are the only effective bans in games.

DrCyanide2 votes

And college campuses only have 1 external IP address, thus only one place where Riot can attempt an IP ban.

The "work around" is to change how the entire internet works, so if you want to get on that so you can IP ban someone, be my guest.

TheXtractor1 votes

Well I just have a house where I live in you know. Its not riot's fault that you decided to live in a place where IP's are shared. We dont have things like dorms here in europe so we dont have those kind of problems.

DrCyanide2 votes

And I suppose it wouldn't be Riot's fault if you moved into a house where the previous owner had an IP Ban? Or if you moved into an apartment with internet provided, but had it networked together for the entire complex? Or if your roommate/sibling got banned? There are more situations than just colleges where the problem manifests itself.

I believe ISP's will also re-issue you an IP address if you ask for it, which makes IP Bans even more hassle and less practical.

TheXtractor1 votes

I was about to say, you can get a new IP aswell. But its still more effort than just registering a new account with no problems. Getting banned on league now just encourages toxic players to go make a level 1 account and go troll level 1s which makes starting league as a new player even worse than it already is.

3TWarrior1 votes

lol, I think you can even force the server to issue you a new IP address if you know the procedures, but it's not an average know-how and doesn't work for shared ip addresses
