In flex queue, why is it that diamonds can get matched against silvers?

I have had multiple streaks of Dias/Plats in my silver games. WAs terrible going from S1 to G5. It literally wasn't until I deranks to S3 that I got paired vs mostly Gold opponents. Then it slowly normalized.... until I got to promos and started get Dias/Plats again wtf.

I think it was because I was queueing with a friend?? I don't know honestly.

My Silver1 games started out ok. I felt like I was losing but that was my fault. I started queueing with my Plat friend ranked silver. But he started climbing very fast and started getting vs high gold opponents. Then I queued with a Gold flex, Plat Solo (Dia) player. Once. The other side got a Plat or Dia also.

After that, literally every game had a Dia (mostly for the enemy). I went from Silver1 promos down to Silver 3 until the Diamonds stopped coming into my games.

Then I got back to Silver 1 promos. And Diamonds and Plats started coming back. Thankfully Diamonds were on my side this time, but like wtf. You can see my match history it is like DIamond = win on whichever side.

Flex queue MMR is separate from your SoloQ MMR so Diamond players in SoloQ can potentially be matched with Silvers and Golds in FlexQ

It's flex MMR, has absolutely nothing to do with Ranked Solo/Duo. Its not taking account for any ranks other thank Flex Queue. It's completely balanced imo, because if it took in consideration Ranked Solo MMR then it would just be Ranked Solo with more than 1 duo.
