Why would you change Garen?

Just why? The moment that champion gets on proplay everyone at Riot starts panicking and they plan a new rework for him. He's now one of the most failed champions in this game. I used to main him. Now I both can't and don't want to. I'm already disgusted by him and he's already just a permaban. Who actually thought that the changes made to him were a good idea?

I don't care that he is countered by poke, I honestly don't. No champion should 100-0 you because they just so happened to land a silence on you. If he catches up to you it's over. You can't cc him because tenacity, you can't outrun him because of his Q and and Phage. He can build AS and tank and he will still deal enough damage to break you.

Juggernauts Nasus. Darius. Garen. Skarner. When you think brute force, these champions should come to mind: powerful, durable, immobile and melee. They’re League’s hulking titans who, come late game, turn into super tanky carries who’ll pretty much destroy anyone foolish enough to get in their way.

I keep seeing this but with no proof. Riot had that rework planned for weeks or months before it hit test servers, and was guided by high elo Garen mains. You don't think they just ship massive champion reworks the same patch they think of it, do you? It goes through internal tests and balanced around upcoming content etc. long before it hits PBE. Pro Play changes are 2-4 patches behind, for this and other reasons, so even if it was a response to pro play the changes would'nt have showed up until ~9.18 when they were on pbe much sooner.
