Dear Riot; Matchmaking

Hey. So, remember when you implemented a system that prevented people like uhhh. golds, queueing with diamonds, to avoid boosting? Yeah?

Okay cool, glad you remember that! Can you please explain why I just had a gold player on my team against a diamond player on theirs? I really valued my high MMR, but I guess you guys didn't, because you actually forced a loss down my throat. There was literally no way to win that game because of the sheer difference in both mechanical skill and gameplay knowledge between a gold player and a diamond player. I'm really glad that I've already hit plat 5 and that's my goal every season, so I don't actually have to stress over climbing any higher, but that system is absolutely fucking obnoxious. -13LP btw.

EDIT; I'd also love to know how matchmaking works. Please be more transparent with it. The way it looks to me, and to apparently a lot of people on the boards, isn't "How good is this player?". It's "Okay, so can this person win games with these types of players? No? Okay, gotcha. What about these? Yes? Alright, we're getting somewhere, let's give him the same ones he lost with to see if he's gotten better! No? Oh, damn.. sorry man, you didn't deserve that win then. Guess that reflects on your skill as a player and not the skill of the teammates you're getting matched with."

if the guy is gold, but has a high MMR rating, he can be placed in higher elo matched games. example: lets say guy1 is gold and is a smurf, guy1 isn't going to be matched against people who are lower elo, hes going to be matched against people who are smurfs or have the same MMR as he does.

atleast this is my understanding of the system. was the guy diamond this season or last season? possibly he was doing shit this season and his mmr tanked hard or something.

Gold last season, too. I had an incredibly high MMR (around plat 1-2, ballparked by op.gg) which apparently translates to "Sabotage his game!"

Alternatively the game pulled people from any and every elo to make my game in order to "shorten the queue time." Yeah, I love jumping in to an instant-loss instead of waiting for a fair match.
