Vi isn't an Assassin. So why is she dealing damage like one?

Tanky Vi is dealing more damage than their 3 item Yasou. It's bad enough she's hard to kill. So why is she dealing so much damage?

Vi usually cant deal out ridiculous amounts of damage unless shes building for it,shes a higher level, or you're letting her hit you repeatedly. In your case it looks like you could have build a zhonyas instead of a tear to help you stay alive considering how they were all physical damage.

Firstly, Vi is an assassin. Look at her champion profile in client.

Secondly, this used to be the case. Riot kicked her in the teeth a dozen or so patches ago, and she now requires around 200 AD to deal the same damage she was capable of before. Unless you're letting her get multiple W procs off on you, standard bruiser Vi with Lizard and maybe a Brutalizer shouldn't be dealing significant damage past 25 minutes or so.

Because a champion which that overloaded kit does damage simply by snowballing.

Bruisers have the issue of they build one damage item and are able to blow up squishies.

at least...i'm not seeing tanky Vi dealing as high damage as an assasin...even though it is a threat to mage and adc...

Fighers, assassins, marksman, and mages all do pretty close to the same damage if you take the entire game into account. End-game it's not at all uncommon for a fighter like Shyvana to win "most damage dealt to champions". Or mages like Orianna, assassins like Zed, marksman like Caitlyn.

All of them mostly differ in ways they survive long enough to deal said damage, and the relative risk involved in unloading that damage. Fighters often survive long enough to unload their payload and pull their weight from being durable, assassins from being fast, and mages and marksman from range. If you can actually sit on top of someone with Vi, you can deal damage.

If Vi is doing a better job at using her durability to gain damage-dealing opportunities than you are at using Yasou's mobility, there's a solid chance the game is going to reward her good decisions and playmaking.
