You can make the case that his pillar offers significant outplay, but ultimately he beats you by stealing your stats and then using them against you at +80% attack speed.
Attack speed buff, AD buff and debuff, armor and MR buff and debuff, health steal on ult that's also % damage... Yeah, that's how trundle wins.

Ironically Trundle doesn't win in any circumstance these days, lol. :-P
Doge20201 votesNasus with R and enough stacks. He does rely on items slightly more than the usual “stack-stick” champs but with a Tri, ult and around 200 stacks he can duel almost anybody and win.
EDIT: this isn’t me being biased. I played a lot of games as nasus and also played some games against nasus
