Yorick Minion AI

I feel that Yorick's minion AI is a real problem yet Riot boasted how advanced his maiden would be because it would push towers by itself and also help out yorick when he needed it. In reality it feels like one of the least intelligent AI's, when a champion fights me the Maiden of the Mists will occupy her time doing other things, either csing or running towards the nearest tower to suicide. The only way to get her to help is with E. It feels best to cast her (and the ghouls) in the jungle so they actually travel with you in case you're in a fight and can defend yourself ( because his damage was obviously balanced around having a pack of ghouls to help). His abysmal winrate should also be an indicator that there's a problem, I think his kit is ok and I really like this champion but the AI always feels unpredictable. I've had times where the lane is cleared and I go to push a tower and the ghouls stand around doing nothing until they die. You may try the argument that his ghouls and ult are made to split push alone because it honestly does work better with a ZZ'rot but it's not fun and normally the tower attacks the maiden of the mists first anyways. His AI feels like a dumbed down Tibbers because it's first instinct should be to defend me against the champion attack me, then to help me attack any champions, then to help me attack towers, then help me cs and if nothing else follow me around or split push. It would be better if it followed me but I know Riot wants it to be some sort of split pushing minion but it does a underwhelming job at it and doesn't feel good to pop a ult for mediocre split. The damage it does and the health % damage feels too useful but you're lucky if it helps/defends you even with them marked with E.

That abysmal 51.56% win rate. Honestly it sounds like you just don't understand how to play Yorick.

"His abysmal win rate" 51.56%, 14th among top laners (out of 55). The Maiden will stop csing once you attack champions, not when they attack you. Having the Maiden split for you is just an OPTION. Like, not a great option, but its there for you.

Ok maybe the winrate thing wasn't the most important part of the article because It was titled Yorick minion AI but if you wanna correct me about that sure go ahead.

His AI feels like a dumbed down Tibbers because it's first instinct should be to defend me against the champion attack me, then to help me attack any champions, then to help me attack towers, then help me cs and if nothing else follow me around or split push.

But the Maiden isn't Tibbers anymore than Daisy is. They're all different pets with different motivations. The Maiden's purpose isn't to protect you. She spends half the game calling Yorick a coward. Thematically it wouldn't make sense for her to be the super-aggressive protector Tibbers is.
