Riven uses a wind technique, doesnt use any mana

Janna uses only wind techniques, and she's mastered it so much that even her body changed to one of an elemental

Yes these 3 champions all function exactly the same way and your post shows a heightened intellect.

Magic comes in many forms. Janna is a spellcaster, she casts spells, she uses mana to conjure wind spells. Riven and Yasuo don't. Riven uses an enchanted sword with magical powers. Yasuo, similar to Zed, use manipulation techniques, Yasuo manipulates the air around his blade, Zed manipulates Shadows. These are ancient arts that need special training for each technique, they are not SPELLS. Spells, in role playing settings, in general require mana to use and any mana based spell, can be learned by other mana users.

Regardless, logic and moba don't go together, game play balance is what matters.

Janna is a support. All Supports must have mana. Yasuo is not as bad as Riven though, she actually NEEDS a resource to be called balanced.

Since when has Riot logic even been about thematics or aesthetics?

Malphite, a dude made out of stone, is susceptible to bleeding, poisoning, and petrification. Brand can be lit on fire via Ignite. Annie can kill brand with Fire. On-hit effects apply from auto attacks that "miss" due to being blinded. Silence prevents Katarina from throwing knives and Garen from twirling his sword. A chipmunk armed with a dart gun is just as likely to kill a demonic lord, horseman of the apocalype, archangel, or dragon as they are of killing him. A werewolf mauling someone or crushing hammer-smash do magical damage. The auto-attacks of all mages do physical damage. All item recipies in the game. Trying to imagine champions actually using the items they purchased.

At the end of the day, most of LoL's gameplay logic is centered around gameplay and balance, with complete disregard to real-world logic.
