Draven in the new meta

Does anybody else think that Draven is a bit too strong right now? The LCS has proven this too as C9 Sneaky was able to put him to excellent use in series against TL I believe. A lot of ADCs fell off with the new meta, but Draven is now thriving. He does some balanced 800 damage autos to tanks late game so you can't even get near him, and his W is fast enough for him to escape from fights and cc. I'm not going to ask Draven to have his damage nerfed, but could he at least have more difficulty than walking on an easy to get to spot?

Step one: Play Draven Step two: Stop getting owned by mediocre Dravens Step three: Profit

You understand that you're admitting that Draven is OP, right? "In order to stop losing, play this champion that I'm saying isn't broken, but play him since he is overpowered." Smoke weed every day

I think he is saying that if you played Draven, you would understand his weaknesses that make him certainly not OP. Then, you would be able to play better against him. Thought I would clarify that since you obviously didn't pass the 3rd grade reading comprehension test.

Draven isn't that good in the new Meta. I actually think he is worse in it because of tanks be so dominant. Draven's main strength comes from his ability to juggle axes and catching him, being able to dish out TONS of damage if he has them. The problem is that his Q show on the ground where they will lane, making it VERY easy for you to land skill shots on him for any champion or requiring him to not catch his axe, making him lower his DPS. Without his Q's his damage is inferior to ALL(not 100% sure but am pretty sure) other ADC's.

He comes equipped with his E and not even LCS players know how to target the adc first so I don't know what you're talking about.

Draven is not very good vs tanks. He can't deal with armor stacking unlike Kog, Vayne, Kalista (rend dmg), Urgot.

Apparently you've never seen a competent Draven as every Draven I see will crit for 800 when you stack armor.

Walking to that easy-to-get spot to catch your axe can be quite dangerous. Essentially, the enemy knows where you want to walk and can easily target you as you walk to that position. In addition, if you get disrupted and miss your axes your DPS drops dramatically.

Since Draven has no mobility aside from a short-lived, albeit refreshable, movement speed buff, he is susceptible to being dove and disrupted in teamfights.

Also, a Gnar with Randuin's Omen, Trinity Force, Blade of the Ruined King, and Black Cleaver (and no boots...) doesn't really qualify as a tank. The Draven had 24 kills, so of course he's going to damage a target as squishy as you. Especially since Draven had 5 offensive items and boots.

Also, just a tip. Their team had 4 autoattackers and 3 pure physical damage threats. Ninja Tabi and Thornmail would have been great purchases.

The only magic damage on the enemy team were Udyr and Thresh, both of whom built tanky. Not really sure why you felt you needed the Spectre's Cowl instead of more armor.

A Gnar with that build is more of a dps bruiser if anything, far far from a tank.

I want you to try seeing that circle in a fight to be able to stop him. The thing doesn't show up unless your sitting alone in a 1v1 so it's hard to position accordingly. Also, the axe generally falls right next to him so if he were to miss it, it would be because he couldn't see the circle thing.

In this circumstance you need to purposefully move after each auto attack so that you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, where that axe is gonna land and if you can catch it safely at any one point in time.

They were complaining about laning against an enemy Draven, not playing as Draven.

Well then just pay attention to which direction draven faces immediately after auto attacking.

Why does everyone have to be an asshole to me and assume I do these threads off of one game? I killed that Draven plenty of times because of my build, but thank you for trying to be a smart ass to make yourself look smart.

Draven is more dependent on a set zone of range for his DPS than pretty much every other ADC. He seems OP right now because his get a kill-snowball-stomp nature lends to the PERCEPTION that he is strong right now. With all the disruptive tanks/junglers and mobility carries having increased viability right now, all this does is hurt a champion who is limited in mobility by his Q. Granted, he can be extremely mobile by juggling Q's to refresh his W, but his skill floor makes up for that.

I can't tell you how many times I've turned teamfights around as a support by waiting for draven to Q up and go in behind tanks, then interrupting his axe catches. I've also played draven enough to know that in teamfights if you don't have at least 1 axe up your kill potential is pretty limited compared to with 1 or 2 up.

Learn the counterplay. power windows, range, and positional superiority are all more important to a carry than one champion.

Pro tip: Draven's Q will normally tend to zone the catch in the direction he is walking when his AA hits. If you want him to get closer, force him to run towards you to catch axes, not away from you. This is why most decent dravens will turn around and walk ~45 units away from the killzone to get their axe in a safer catch zone.
