Can we please stop the top-lane roaming meta?

Mid and jungle are for roaming. Top lane is for farming extremely hard so you can be the heavy-hitter during mid-game even if the other lanes are falling behind. I'm getting tired of people all of a sudden expecting me to roam mid and teleport bot every 2 minutes, it's even worse when enemy top spends half the LANING phase out of lane, and regardless of how much I spam MIA pings, my team blames me anyway. Apparently top is supposed to chase around the enemy top if they roam and if they get ambushed by the enemy team as a result well then that's his fault too. I'm sorry that I would rather farm instead of risking big losses just for the off chance that I can pick up a double kill.

What angers me the most is that I am getting reported for not following the enemy top when they roam to mid or teleport to bot. And yes, I ping MIA each time.

Here's a good one that actually happened to me : One game, I somehow actually won lane as Nasus. And when I say won lane, I mean I got first blood had my lane opponent shoved to the corner while he could do nothing but watch me AFK stack right in front of him. However, our mid was losing lane kinda hard and asked if he could get a gank from top (our jungler was NOT afk). It's not my fault that someone else can't handle his lane, and I don't want to gank losing lanes for fear of losing my advantage or getting shutdown, but I didn't want to say "No" because that would make me look like a jacka$$, so I just ignored him. Eventually he lost lane and it cost us the game because mid kept going bot and getting kills. And ended up extremely fed. The funny part was, even though mid ruined the game for me by feeding when I won my lane hard, I ended up getting reported post-game, I didn't know that the top laner was required to drop everything and go help someone who screwed up their lane or else risk getting banned.

Team game. The more you are effective helping your team, the more likely you will win. Roaming is the meta because it works. It's the direction which the game has taken, and you can jump on that boat, acknowledging you are playing a team game, or you can lose.

So I can sacrifice some CS to roam around and force-feed my teammates a few kills, possibly get killed in the process, and in the end there is a probability that they either will not do anything for the team because they lack experience or skill with their champion even with a gold advantage, or they might even go AFK and waste all the gold I essentially handed to them.

Sorry but time and time again, I have been put up with teammates who validate my belief that you can only trust yourself to win the game.

Because teamwork isn't a strong concept in Bronze yet?

When you get higher up, teamwork skills get stronger. That's why the roaming meta exists in the first place.

People don't play it because it's the meta (at least in this case), it's the meta because people play it.

Where you say its not my fault he lost lane sure it isnt

but if you are not going to do something about it, than it will become your problem

like an example of this: my friend played mid lane yasuo he was doing alright i was playing nidalee jungle wich i am not bad at usualy my bot lane was doing even i think

but my top lane wqs ashe vs irelia she was feeding like fuck i pinged her to hug tower told her a bilion times she ignored and went for her every time till she was 0 - 4

I knew irelia would but rape us later in game so i decited to quit farming my jungle and go lane with this noob ashe ruining my entire game but stopping her from giving irelia 10 kills I didnt want to go and babysit this noob at al! But if i hadnt irelia would be 10/0 and it be gg for sure

we eventualy won thx to mid lane i wouldnt have done this in anny situation but i knew that if irelia is fed nidalee is worthles annyway

But do I deserve to get reported for not ganking a struggling lane?

Also lane camping a fed assassin almost always ends up with her getting a double kill. Not sure what you were thinking.

depends what top laner.

Pantheon, Riven and J4 are supposed to snowball their lead then gank because they are incredibly good gankers.

As Nasus though? There's nothing you could've done to help your mid.

It's actually your fault for not knowing "teamwork". You pretty much wasted all your lane winning phases by being selfish and stays in a lane where there is not much impact at all. You could have made your stacks worth by summoner 12 bot, or coming mid to gank.

And miss out on an entire wave's worth of stacks.

Not to mention probably die, because we all know how much teams like to gang up on Nasus and how no one in low bronze bothers to take advantage of the fact that someone who built straight tank is currently taking 90% of the enemy's focus.

It's always best to try gank your mid whenever you pushed a wave too far into the enemy's turret, where you will do nothing but waste your time standing around, and sometimes, over-stacking time spending will lead to your teammates' demise. I know it's good to stack loads of it, but you should also know when is it good or not to take the time to Q stack, or else, this is nothing but a 4v5 all along and people should have the rights to report you for "afk".

Tank Nasus is actually pretty OP, of course you have to be paired with your teammates. Benefits of Tank Nasus:

  • Stupid people tend to focus you. That's a good point.
  • With an average stacks of 250-350 stacks, you can pretty much hurt.
  • Use Wither on a carry like an ADC or Xin. It drastically decreases the enemy team's damage potential.
  • With good placing of E, you tend to make the enemy team a lil squishier, especially a Withered carry.

But if you tell me you played him bad cz you said "tank nasus is bad bcz they focus me" due to:

  • using Wither on a tank
  • diving deep into enemy team solo without your teammates, cz "i wan muh afk-farm stacks to be wurf"
  • building Trinity or Hydra on a "tank" Nasus

then you should be the one to change your "solo" attitude and practice more on mastering Nasus.
