That Rift Herald tower damage though
So what exactly is the point of
when you can just pick a lane bully, kill your opponent, and get this kind of tower damage 10 minutes in?

Lel, thinking that they gave any thought to how changes to the game might impact Nasus.
God that thing is just a fucking menace.
...This scares me. Turrets already drop too fast. Please don't let this go through...
I get the feeling "Protect the Kog" comps are going to get replaced with "Protect the Rift Herald" comps.
Jesus Christ that's fucking stupid.
"It might only charge once per turret" Oh, so it will only delete one turret at a time. That's cool.
I don't remember signing up for HoTS.
Seriously Riot, what the fuck.
I think a large potential issue with the new Herald is the definite possibility that the only team ever getting it will be the top laner that is super far ahead already for instance. This would make defensive strategies against it extremely hard to pull off, as you're likely barely able to farm waves under your own tower vs the enemy laner, let alone committing CC and damage to the Herald on top of it, or having teammates come to assist leading to them risking losing their own lanes as well.
The biggest concern in my opinion comes from the added fact that the one holding the Herald item has the option to cast it whenever they want. Basically as an opponent you aren't going to know when it's coming to time a defence against it. Another scenario: even if the one holding the Herald is even, they can just call their jungler up, pop the herald and make it an almost inevitable tower take.
Not saying this will happen for sure, because in my opinion this will be a more contested objective than old Herald was, but if it turns out only the top laner that wins lane ever ends up getting Herald in the vast majority of games, then it'll be super annoying.
Alright. As much as an advocate for 'wait and see' as I was... This. THIS?!
This can't be serious.
Holy shit imagine ziggs with that tower power
Top lane gonna get some jungle love.

Keep in mind that the charge deals damage based on how much health Herald has. Poke her down, and she won't be able to charge your turret with as much damage as when she is full health.
This looks like a situation where top has been ganked by the enemy jungle, given the Renekton/Vi already tackling the tower.
Probably timed so their TP was down.
This is like the 4-man bot lane meta all over again, but this time it's top lane for Rift...
It does 150 + 0.25 [current self hp] damage with its charge and can't charge through a wave. You can't use it to smash through a defended turret by itself. It's basic attacks look pretty lethal though.
Basically... no reason to even try for dragons early as long as rift herald up. Jungle going to be all about top side now.....
I wonder... Since she can be cc'd do you think someone like gragas would be able to e into her and stop that initial damage or would she just wind up and do it again???
