What Urf Teemo has taught me

I don't think it's such a bad idea to lower the cooldowns on his shrooms Remember, they actually cost mp in regular rift so he can't place 10 of them without running out of mp

My reasoning is that it takes a really long time to set up a Vietnam minefield

  1. as such you gotta prepare for the team fight (and location) that you don't even know will happen 5 minutes ahead
  2. or camp one spot hoping someone MIGHT pass by
  3. or you gotta hope that a shroom picks off a kill after a team fight that you couldnt partake in anyway cuz you predicted the location wrong and is sitting in godknowsfkingwhere, (see .1)

Teemo's probably my funnest champ to play in Urf, I'm actually living that scout fantasy Going to dangerous places and make on the fly decisions not that guerilla warfare bullshit where you prepare days ahead of time, stake out a part of the jungle and hope someone passes by it was easy for the guerillas cuz they knew the enemy is CERTAIN to come, and soon - o-

I don't mind the shroom caps at all, cuz I need shrooms HERE and NOW, I couldn't care less about the shrooms I played WAY BACK THERE I can move around and sabotage the place as I go, I'm not tethered to a nearby minefield emphasis on tethered, for a scout.. he can't reposition very well in normal mode

This is a bit of a tricky problem ever since Riot removed oracle's elixir and nerfed vision wards. If the cooldown is lowered enough, Teemo may build more mage and get more mana to spam his shrooms more, which could prove deadly to a squishy if they find themselves in a minefield. If they reduce Shroom's cooldown, we will need a way for purchasable temporary true vision as the minefield will become obscene late game.

I honestly feel Riot painted themselves into a corner with stealth with how they changed it because there isn't many ways you can counter mass stealth unless oracle lens is overbuffed.

Only in the late game. Low cooldown shrooms would make him impossible to lane against.

Teemo is not the best team fighter overall unless you have a shroom field, and that requires prep, so how do I overcome that?

I split push all game as teeemo and I make the enemy jungle next to the lane I am pushing an absolute mine field. this means

  • I have vision of approaching enemies, allowing me to escape, or make a pick and escape, or simply stall
  • I often deny them their red/blue buff for the entire game
  • I will be putting constant pressure attracting enemies, who eat shrooms and have to back /die , relieving enemy pressure on the rest of the map
  • If left alone I will get an inhib
  • My team fight is great if my team decides to collapse on them as they venture through my shroom field

Build is fairly common Nashors, Liandry, Death, Sorc boots , Void staff, I often get a runnans for extra pushing power, but I will replace it with other items such as zhonyas when I feel it is necessary (because even without runnans you can push a wave decently by AAing every minion once and letting the DOT work on them)

The way I shroom is I start at the jungle entrance near the destroyed enemy outer turret and work your way in, have them decently spaced out and try and pick slightly less obvious places (often people expect the shroom in the center of the tri-bush, skew it a little bit to either side) Have your shroms cover the length of the lane and work their way deeper

I find this actually works best if your red side, you can put a shrooms at 3 choke points (tri bush by blue outer turret, entrance to river, the gap near the blue buff & deeper jungle) and fill out in between, once your satisfied start to spread it deeper, further own the lane and towards wolves, the blue buff control you get really helps you setting this up aswell

Not to show off match statistics or anything but if you go here and look at the map showing where kills took place, you can see how much of ended up in the enemy jungle http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1790552064/201274944?tab=overview

I am also trying a similar push strategy with Heim, rushing a banner of command, boxing people under turret and laughing at them as they struggle to deal with enhanced minions (THIS ALSO WORKS GREAT AGAINST TEEMO)

Then people start running TP homeguard Teemo, and when late game comes you will simply wish you weren't born.
