Base HP  increased to 497.6 from 482.36
HP Per Level decreased to 70 from 77 -?
Base attack damage increased to 52.04 from 50.04
Movement Speed increased to 330 from 325
Base mana regen reduced to 1.6184 from 1.8 - ?
Mana regen per second per level increased .13 from .08

i like the base AD buff, bc i played sona mostly as a hybrid burst damage carry mid/top with item 3078 item 3087 item 3031 after she was nerfed into the ground as a support.

I'd like a better auto animation. She just sits there for an idiot before finally producing a golden toothpick at you. Or a higher base attack speed.

The mana regen nerfs are dreadful, though. I hope that Riot's buffing her mana costs a bit later in the cycle.

I doubt the post-5 increase will eliminate her mana-hungriness, and I don't know whether the mana regen given by items is calculated from the level 0 'base' value or from the champ's current regen. If the latter, cool, if the former, oh no.

Basically, all you need to know is she'll have less mana during laning. They're making her most crucial moments even more difficult. Both less harass and sustain simultaneously with this 1 nerf.

% mana regen is based on current base mana regen, so the same mana regen items scale better as you level up. i have always started double charm, ward, potion as support sona to get me through the first few levels. sure you lose some gold, but you increase your chances of feeding the ADC which is the entire reason you exist.

on the other hand, support sona hasnt been viable for a long time.

Support Sona is still viable in team 5v5, and I've had considerable success with her. (Haven't tried her this patch, though.) I suppose that the trick is to wait until the enemy support's picked, and not pick it if it's something disgusting like Blitzcrank.

Considering she's a support, of course she cares about the early values. There's a reason she had the same mana pattern as Janna and Nami, cause it was necessary. Changing her to a mid-laner's mana style is a blatant nerf.

As a Sona main I try not to dwell on those problems. Instead of matching power for power you have to use your wit. Believe me, nothing feels better than hearing the words "Its stupid that Sona is so OP"

People spam her q because it's the most rewarding ability to use on a ** feel's good ** level. All her other abilities just kind of happen and aren't exactly noticeable, (Ult being the exception of course).

Heal's: Riot hates them. All heals are unworthy to exist alongside lifesteal, so it gained a shield, a weak one. And does anyone use the powerchord version? Regularly?

Speed up: Haha, sure, it's useful, it can save the day, it can win the day, but it just doesn't feel good to use. Not even the powerchord.

And so they Q. They always Q. It gives an aa buff to their ally, and hits two enemies and it gives visual feedback that you did something. Even the powerchord version is noticeable, since it's so simplistic.

Mathematically speaking, her Q offers the least reward and lowest potential in her kit per individual cast, but after taking mana cost and cooldowns into the calculation, it's way more efficient than W. Speaking of, W has been watered down so heavily that it's less than 1/5th the overall effectiveness it had pre-4.13.

I could say E is technically the best of her 3 abilities, but what would be the point? It's just pure MS, it doesn't really "do something" if you know what I mean. In other words: it's boring.

As an ex-Sona main, nothing felt worse to me after 4.13 than to see my abilities reduced to flashing lights that don't have effects.

The only "witty" way to play Sona now is to pretend you're a caster minion and auto-push bot lane endlessly. Unfortunately, real caster minions are more useful than Sona, so you may as well build Banner of Command, Zzrot Portal and that 1 elixir nobody uses, to support your superiors. Aka: the minions.

At first I thought the new auras in 4.13 were a huge mistake but back then I was a Sona main so I was able to get used to it and I actually started to enjoy them. But every patch since then where she has had changes have been nothing but nerfs. I feel like she isn't viable anymore unless it is late game and you are on the winning team (more gold more items). Needless to say, I haven't played her since three nerfs back.
