It varies based on the matchup but if you're top lane i prefer it as like a 3rd item. Finish the ghostblade, grab an item to make you a bit tanky, then grab the duskblade. My reasoning behind that is that you're gonna want the ghostblade first of course. Then the tanky item so you don't get deleted in skirmishes. Then the duskblade for diving carries when teams have started to group. If you're fed as hell you might as well grab it second since you're gonna be killing people way faster than they can kill you. If you're losing hard i think it's better to grab a second defense item and grab it 4th. You don't really need it for 1v1 in top lane, it's really useful for when you get onto their carries when those dragon fights start going down. I find most of the time i'll leap in, get a carry to 1/4 health or so, then need to back off before I die. The passive is gonna help secure you that kill or IMMEDIATELY force them to run away instead of being able to kite from the backline at lowish HP.
I find the same thing applies in the jungle too. I like to grab my
, get something like
, then pick up
after i'm tanky enough to survive flanking into their backline.
The only time i even bother buying
though is if we have something like
mid and a tank in the jungle. The reason i love fighters so much is they have such versatile build baths and this just adds another path. If you don't have a true assassin on your team, you can build that item to fulfill the role. However, if you DON'T have a tank in your jungle it's much smarter to go the tank route. Sure you could go the damage route, but if you have
mid....be honest with yourself...your team doesn't need anymore damage. They need someone to keep the damage dealer alive.
