Why has Lux been left alone for so long?

She's been one of the most oppressively strong mid laners for nearly two months now. For all that everyone likes to complain about Ahri, Lux has actually had a considerably higher pick and win rate for some time. Most of the last few patches she's been hovering comfortably about the 55% win rate mark, and before 5.22 created ten or so new overpowered champions she had the highest win rate in the game, period.

I love playing Lux, but you're right, she's too stronk right now. I guess the only thing that's saved her from the nerf hammer is the fact she's immobile, high mana costs, and mediocre waveclear.

Lux was last touched in 5.12, shes in a good place, ( i consider it a GREAT place) so leaving her alone is fine imo. that being said..

TALON hasnt been touched since 4.17 (over a year and a half ago. ) and he's not even playable in this game without a hard carry from jungle on your lane.

There's no dodging her E. You don't know where it'll stop until it does, the detonation range is pretty large and she can detonate it instantly. You just hope she misses.

Her E is pretty dodgeable imo, any champion with mobility can avoid it since it's not particularly fast for a projectile. She's like a classic fighting game zoning character, strong if you can't manage her range but very vulnerable at close range. Mercury's Treads is a strong counter to her kit since it reduces the amount of time she has to full combo you before the snare wears off.

While she does have a pretty high win rate I wouldn't consider her oppressive since she has very defined weaknesses that can be abused. Because of the front-loaded nature of her damage and long cooldowns, she has trouble with tanks and her damage falls off a bit late game. Unless the team against her is dumb and doesn't buy any MR. The front-loaded nature of her damage also makes it difficult for her to stay a threat when behind.
