Champions and Champion abilities that have the jack of all trades, master of none design...

I'm trying to find an example of an instance where this kind of design is healthy or offers interesting and fun "diversity" (I'm assuming this is why they exist).

I can't find any instance where I wouldn't rather have a full damage or a full utility spell. I'm not talking about hybrid scaling.

Here are two examples of what I AM talking about since it's hard to put into words.

Galio 's E (righteous gust)

Kayle as a champion

What are your thoughts? Other examples?

Thresh is probably the best example for a single role.

Yes but he has a clearly defined role. As a support. I'm talking about champions that fit almost every role but are lackluster compared to a champion that is specialized for that role.

Oh, like flex picks? There aren't really any champions that could fill all five standard roles, but you can get three or four out of champions like Cho'gath, Ekko, Poppy, and Lulu. Talon and Zed can both do three as well.

AD Thresh is a thing. He used to be played top sometimes before his attack range was nerfed.

For a champ to be viable in all 5 roles, they need to be a ranged champ capable of ADCing and jungling, the other 3 roles can theoretically be played by anyone*. Not that they should be, of course.

*Specific exceptions apply

Lee Sin is supposed to be it...but he is just tuned to the point of being master of all lol.

Ekko can do everything

Question. Who enjoys these types of abilities and/or champion designs and why?
