Quinn and Valor Gameplay Rework

Hi guys, i want to give a bit of insight on what i think should be done with Quinn (and Valor).

The core of her design and concept is very good in my opinion, but it's not executed as it should be. Is she an ADC? or a bruiser?

What i think this champion should be is, well, 2 champions in 1. Let me explain. It's no suprise to have in LoL, champions with 2 forms, or in general 6 base abilities isntead of 3. Quinn should be no exception to this rule, in fact quinn was initially called Quinn and Valor, just to further increase the importance of their duo. Right now Valor show up only on his ultimate, and his abilities are not exactly inspiring.

So let's see how could we have both Valor and Quinn reworked for the better.

I think Quinn should probably be a MIDLANER, not an adc or a bruiser. Specifically, an adc/assassin.

Quinn and valor gets their ulti at lvl 1.

R: Tag Team (very short cooldown) Much more like elise spider form, you get ulti at lvl 1, Calling down Valor or Quinn, switching up your abilities (and passive too!). Valor is a bit faster (not as much as on live) then quinn and gets bonus AD, but has less resistances.

AS QUINN: Pretty much identical as on live, Q, W, And E all have a good place as a kit, and you can combo her abilities together. Slight edit to the Q, wich shoudn't blind the enemies, but slow them.

But the passive changes a bit: Harrier: passive The mark last much longer, and you can have up to 3 targets marked. The mark empowers your next ABILTY attack AS VALOR, not as quinn and not auto attacks.

AS VALOR: Passive: After 3 auto attacks, the next auto attack causes the target to bleed for X physical (pretty high dmg here) damage for 3 seconds. This effect cannot accur on the same target multiple times for 5 seconds.

Q (thick short range dash): Valor dash in the direction selected, the first enemy hit takes X physical damage. If the target is Marked by Harrier, it is also stunned for 0.75 seconds.

W: (Passive and active): Passive: Increase Valor radius of vision by X/X/X/X/X % Active: The next auto attack Blind the target for 2 seconds. If the target is marked by Harrier, they also lose a large part of they vision radius for 2 seconds. (like rek'sai when udnerground, or Graves W).

E.( point and click dash, Medium Range) Valor dashes, to the target, dealing very little physical dmg. If the target is marked by Harrier, it extends the Harrier duration on the target by 3 seconds.

General Gameplay: If you read the kit, i think you rpetty much understand what it is all about. Quinn is the initiator and the laning presence. Valor is the one that assassin and finish the job. That's how the tag team works. You can compare it to Gnar 2 forms, 1 being more like a short range adc, and 1 being a tank. Well here it's a similar situation, but instead of a tank, Valor is the assassin.

Quinn short range and general control of the lane with W, should make a perfect fit for midlane, considering that she can be safe, thanks to Valor Q (short dash), that can grant her safety. Remember that you can switch to Quinn and Valor in any given time here, with only short CD. so you have to use them both together for greater effect.

But what are the strenght of the weakness of this kit?:

PRO: • High mobility • Encourage a good use of both Quinn and Valor abilities • Burst dmg to single target, and a bit of utility, increased vision as Valor • Lane control, still high damage as Quinn. • Can put up extreme lane pressure not only in your lane, but also when roaming.

CONS: • Short range as Quinn, Melee as Valor • You need to combo both Valor and Quinn abilities to have a grater effect. • No safe escape if cought. • Need items to become a true terror • You get punished very hard if you mess up your engage combo, or if you engage at the wrong time

As you can see by her kit, the core of it is the passive of Quinn, Harrier. wich empowers the next ability of Valor. Valor can extend the duration of Harrier himself with the E, so if you think about it you can have a very very BIG variety of side effects you can have when consuming the Harrier debuff. Mastering the usage of Harrier means mastering Quinn and Valor.

That is all for now, tell me what you think about it, i will expand this post if i can later. Feel free to ask questions.

quinn was originally designed to be a melee ad assassin. they turned her into a ranged ad instead for some unkown reason while they kept her kit basically the same.

with that in mind, both her lore and her kit makes more sense. i guess they probably couldnt make quinn and valor distinct enough by keeping quinn melee. so they thought theyd just change it by making her ranged instead.

imo shes a nieche champion but not terrible. she requires kindof a different playstile and mindset than other ranged ad. you want to 1v1 more with her than with other ranged ad, and think more like an assassin. trying to single out squishies and burst them down with her passive. (especeially passive + e + passive chains) shes especially good at taking out other ranged ad with valor, and her blind if she can catch them out.
