it does absorb too much damage in general, but it's easily manage-able in lane.

you can just auto-attack it ONE time, and wait for the shield to fade THEN attack.

See the thing is he's melee, so you could just pop the shield for free and wait until it's down

IDK why you're 'trading health for his shield' when you could easily avoid it
