Ezreal is so bad Vlad "APC" is better

Ezreal

Relies on consistently landing skill shots continuously to deal only average damage compared to other ADC options (Jinx MissFortune KogMaw ).

Damage output is so bad he can barely shred tanks.

If I see an Ezreal, I just walk in a random motion while lobbing a few spells at him and he can't hit a single thing. "Oh WOW nice slow on the Q... can you hit 3 more to kill me?"

...

He's so bad I'd rather play Vladimir as an improvised bot lane APC than Ezreal as an ADC.

Vlad deals more consistent damage to tanks in mid and late game with his Es and a Void Staff. And he brings more utility. Sustained damage on average will be higher because he doesn't rely on continuously landing linear skill shots that are only so so in damage anyways.

...

Think Ez should be reworked. He's too high risk, high skill cap low reward.

In Ranked he's over-picked but mostly useless. Occasionally you see a really mechanically skilled Ez and they start off well but eventually you hit that 1 team fight where they inevitably slip up, miss a few Qs, and then you realise your team doesn't have the actual ADC damage factor to win.

What you think?

so basically you've played against horrible players that can't land skill shots, so you think he should be buffed? Fortunately riot doesn't pay much mind to low elos when balancing.

Well my experience in Silver is that picking Ezreal on the team STRONGLY correlates with losing the game even if you're ahead early on. The probability of throws or sub-optimal damage in the games is just too high.

The only champ I'd say has a stronger correlation with losing is Bard.

Now at higher elo it may be different I don't know. But at low elo... I always want to see an Ezreal on the enemy team. It always brings a smile to my face.

I tried playing him myself and find him a worse pick than MF in every single way imaginable. And I do play skill shot champs, I regularly carry games with champs like Lux and Zed.

But I just don't understand why you would want a champ on your team who is supposed to deal consistent sustained damage but who has to KEEP LANDING SKILLSHOTS to do that (and even if he lands a bit over half of them, still does less damage than point and click options). I mean he has a low cool down Flash but who cares? He can stay alive all he wants if he doesn't melt key targets in time he can run back to the base alone after his team is slaughtered. Which happens too much.

it's because ezreal requires that you

know your abilities prior to execution (most players in low tiers do not and wont even play on instant spells because they have to be reminded where their spells can be cast)

have decent connection so you can actually hit your spells (most low tiers do not that's why they're in low tier)

are not intoxicated or in a state of "low"

are willing to run away

build mixed damage

not get flamed by your team so you can actually try to win.

have map awareness for your R

spell weave

know who to go after that you can actually kill

have teamwork so that you're not getting focused early on

all of those are pretty much impossible challenges for low tier matches.

i used to literally dance in lane when playing ezreal just last hitting minions because your opponent cant hit you with anything but tracker rounds if you dont waste your abilities and mana.

Ezreal is literally the safest ADC pick in the game. If the Ezreals you're fighting aren't doing damage, they're either building wrong or they're bad.

He's definitely safe. But in exchange, he does almost no damage.

He's consistently out-damaged by two other people on the team. Most of the "damage" that he does deal is also often shrugged off since its just useless poke on tanks when you're bored.

and then he builds like this item 3100 item 3146 item 3089 item 3115 item 3020 item 3135 And one shots your squishies from his fountain while also chunking your entire team for half their hp.

i hate adc ez ill never play it. even when im bot lane i build ap an make sure the enemy dont got an adc/support cause they 0-15 by time they leave the lane.

Well at least AP Ezreal is more conceptually consistent.

I mean... if you're going to have a champ that's "all skill shots", then the skill shots need to be worth landing. And since AD Ez doesn't have burst, I don't get how its worth the risk/reward and the effort to train.

At least with AP Ez, its consistent with how skill shots are supposed to be high impact when you do land them.

Ezreal deals average damage over longer range Vlad would, ironically, be countered by an ezreal team lategame I imagine lol.

Everyone builds the freelo explorer wrong.

He is a fucking mage/assassin not an adc. even bot lane he should be built with ap prob rush gunblade first so you got good ad damage also. your hybrid damage is soooo high and your cds are so low that if they stacking mr/armor it wont matter. only items i hate are fucking maw for obvious reasons cause it prevents burst.

a very interesting idea...

Gun blade helps with CSing too I expect?

My suspicion is that on most players, they will get better results with your build after 30 games then they can with 30 games on the ADC builds of Ezreal cause at least Ezreal will DO SOMETHING. Yet you'll get flamed for doing it in ranked for some reason.

Are you actually HIGH?

Ezreal is a rediculously safe champion because of the long ranged poke and inbuild flash. He won't deal as much damage in combat like a Vayne or Lucian, but he will poke your ass to death.

nice he will poke you to death while vayne and them melt the shit out of his team an he sits back spamming Qs for 100 damage maybe 300 if he hits a squishy. adc ez is ass. build ap and do something for your team. difference is you get hit a Ap ezreals poke you gonna take some serious damage if you are a squishy if you eat a late game Ap ezreals Q W you gonna die ive killed people by just E gunblade thunderlords.

He's very safe but he deals no damage in exchange.

I mean... Vladimir bot lane with an AP build is equally safe (I would say SAFER because you're innately tanky in addition to the Blood Pool and sustain) while on average dealing more damage. Heck, your damage is even AOE.

So aside from being AP, I don't see any other reason why Ezreal is favoured over Vladimir in bot lane. On average you just get more sustained damage from Vladimir... you even get more safety because he's essentially unkillable after a single Spirit Visage or Zhonyas.

Perma slow with gauntlet? Its way worse than Rylais on Vlad. Way more consistent.

Go ahead, play Vladimir APC. That champion barely functions in the roles he is intended to be played in because of the nerfs he took. It's your LP :)

Just last week I carried 3 games as Vladimir Support (check my match history). I financed a full AP build using an Ancient Coin for half the game while letting the ADC farm.

I don't see why ADC wouldn't work since he would get more Gold.

ADC EZ is safe pick when your team has damage and you only need the ADC to kite and take objectives... Better than dead Vayne Draven or whatever

The thing is, in Silver, if you're even remotely decent with positioning, you can stay alive for a very long time even with an immobile carry like MF. And MF WAY OUTDAMAGES Ez on average.

When I occasionally pick up Ez to play, he feels like a water pistol compared to other ADCs. The survival is in no way worth it. Ez just has too many bad trade-offs.

Occasionally you run into a game with a fed Master Yi or Hecarim and they target you and you just die in every team fight with very little counterplay. But in those games a Blue Ez with a blink and a slow still wouldn't be enough to save you.

Meanwhile in the majority of other games an immobile carry with more damage is far more useful with just a bit of positioning sense and kiting ability.

In the rotating modes I play full AD armor pen or full crit EZ. You can duel anyone in the game. But these builds don't work on SR, because you will go oom too fast.

i think he's great if you have perfect high speed connection and never ever lag. ever. he's probably one of the most skill intensive marksmen in the game.

i love his spell weaving. he was my first marksman i ever bought other than ashe - who was 450 IP. however because of his requirement to never miss and his extreme squishiness i cant play him very often without concern of death. his R was one of my favorite abilities in the game because even if you missed your target you could use it to clear lanes and earn gold. i would build magic damage and turn it into a 1k damage shot by late game.

after they made his R's cooldown longer i stopped playing him and my connection got worse so now im sort of hesitant to go back. maybe i should give it a shot?

tips for ezreal - always play on instant cast. play as if you're made of cracked glass. movement and cooldown are your friend. do not aim your R through a wave of minions or jungle camps if you intend to kill someone. dont waste time with lifesteal. buy some form of armor - i recommend wits end guardian angel and tabi.

Finally, a fellow Ezreal hater. I knew deep down inside I wasn't the only one who recognized his hyper feast or famine playstyle. You only get godlike ezreals or useless ones and because of that I mostly just give up on bot lane when I see an ezreal on my team. Lets be real; the only people who can make this kid work are diamond+ or in the pro scene.

i love it when people ban ezreal to prevent the ezreals from feeding lmfao but still a good ezreal is decent so i feel that kayle rework is more necessary because i dont see it played and whenever it is played kayle player feeds to the ground or never does enough damage and is also fragile, needs to require less farming to be fun tbh you cant win with kayle unless your enemies are noobs and you're way ahead.
