Why Do People Say If Its Not Ranked It Doesn't Matter?!

People who harass others, are racist, intentional feed, afk in base because they not carrying should be reported 100% of the time. No matter if its ranked or Aram. I've played numerous amount of games with people like this. Their excuse "its not ranked so doesn't matter" ; "you wasting your time". People like this are mainly people who only care about ranked. NEWS FLASH! Do you actually think most people care what rank you are? Only people that might would be Bronze, Silver, and some Gold. But what can you expect from people who are stubborn.

I think you're misconstruing the "if it's not ranked it doesn't matter" comment. Or maybe I am misunderstanding your gripe.

I don't think people say it doesn't matter so it's ok to be racist or flame or harass. I think the majority of people (and I say the majority because you will have trolls and scuzzbuckets who always feel like it's ok to harass or int or troll) find it acceptable to try off-meta builds or first time champs or do odd builds to try and have fun.

The difference between a ranked game and a normal game (other than the extra tid bit of IP that is nothing to get bent out of shape over) is that after the game is over you either go up or down in ranked, and 0 change happens in normal. You could lose 50 normal games and yes, it would suck, but you're no worse for it on the 51st game. In ranked if you drop 50 games in a row there's probably a monitor and possibly a tower that meet a window/wall.

I agree 100% and it's because of BASIC psychology.

You say people claim "it's not ranked, so it doesn't matter" in the sense that as a non-ranked game, it doesn't count or affect one's account. I agree with YOU that people who dick around should always be reported.

Why?

Trolling and insulting people (example: people who tell teammates to kill themselves and/or bully the hell out of them) can still hurt their teammates. Ranked or not, humans are humans and words effing hurt. Doesn't matter if someone is in ranked or not, you never know when a troll will seriously screw up someone's day or push them over the edge (and I'm not saying people are thin-skinned, but I've seen some cruel people and it's not okay. People come to this game for fun, not to be forced into depression).
It's the same idea that applies to EVERYTHING: If someone excuses a type of behavior, or just gives a slap on the wrist, that tells the offender that what they do doesn't matter. It's like having a crying child demanding a toy or candy, and to shut them up, you give them what they want...That makes them spoiled and inadvertently REWARDS their bad behavior. So, like you said, ranked or not, people need to be reported and punished for being jerks because if people treat it like it's no big deal, the behavior will only continue, and if said offenders DO go into rank, it'll screw things up even more.
