@riot What is Nocturne's role in the game?

Seems to me like he doesn't have one. At least not late game. He has immediate access to the backline but can't do anything when he gets there. His damage is pitiful compared to the invisibility assassins, and his kit is a weird mix of I want to burst- instant access with no ability to retreat and I want to deal sustained dmg- AS and AD miltiplier on AA based champ

But since his sticky tools aren't that great unless he builds more tools (frozen mallet, phage) then he kinda sucks at it all..

hes a burst champion cant expect to much 1v5 potential but he could set up for Sejuani ult or Xerath ult... more of a initiator than anything

He fit that anti split pusher niche that no one else really can do.

his main issues is thats all he is good for outside of wombo's set up byLulu and ori

His only issue is his inability to split push because junglers have to be reactive to objectives rather proactive in forcing rotations.

He needs something to push him into top lane or something to sustain him in the mid lane.

if he becomes an effective split pusher, he would be a decent pick into split pushers

He's def a "Pick" champ, where you are trying to pick off low opponents. I agree that he has virtually no late game presence. Because he's classified as an Assassin, i don't think Riot wants him to succeed without a snowball, or in a true 5v5. Most of his value is in early ganks and the vision game.

I put him in the same boat as Pantheon and TF when they are in the Jungle: FF@20, but half the time it's your squad quitting.
