Remove that stupid "Lock in or be kicked" feature already.
What is the reason for it even being there? People can be undecided on a character and then they get kicked because they didn't lock in and then you cant play for a while.

you know in the time it took you to come to the boards to create and type out your complaint over the lock in feature and reading and responding to comments you could have locked in for your future games for like the next 6 months easy?

Did you know that in the time spent having que reset or get put on a timer because people just dont press "lock in" could have locked people in for their future games for like the next 6 months easily? This actually makes sense too and isn't just a joke lol.

BONUS: So far I have yet to see it actually get used for it's intended purpose, instead: -Used to deliberately dodge a game -Person tries to make a last minute swap and fails to beat the clock -Person forgets to lock in -Person is just unsure if they truly want to lock that character and just don't hit lock in

well they gotta lock in a champ , if they dont and time runs out they are stuck with the champ they are unsure (where the lock in didnt matter) so what difference does it make?
and it still is an afk checker. you can preselect a champ and then alt tab or walk away or something. rather have it kick the afk player there then wait til they are afk in game and have to wait for a remake or worst cant remake and stuck in a game.
you are clicking things the entire time in champ select and in game what is one more click?
people should have an idea of what champ they want to play. they arent really choosing from 143 champs they are choosing from a small pool of champs they play for the role they are in. not that hard.
its a check for AFK it wants to know you are there and paying attention

You're obviously paying attention if you selected your character..

yet you cant take a fraction of sec to lock in? so its a matter of either not paying attention or being lazy

Why should I be kicked if I don't want to autolock? Its pointless to be kicked after you select a champion. Its literally a needless extra step.
You selected your champion before ban phase. You're not "obviously" there.
This is a chicken and the egg problem. You're frustrated it makes you lock in, but it's only an issue to lock in if you're AFK.
Because champ select isnt time for you to afk to take a piss or dick around in another game. Pay attention and dont waste other people's time
I'm not talking about before banphase. I'm talking about when its your turn to pick.
Lets say u selected ur champion within 10 seconds. Now you lock in and save everyone in champ select 20 seconds or dont lock in and waste 20 seconds. By forcing you to lock in the game is reducing the amount of time champ select takes, it adds up per player.
See, its not really about "Just one more click who cares", its more of that there is a drawback if you happen to forget it and it happens quite often because for the longest time, it wasn't a thing. If you hover a champion and time runs out and it locks you in on what you were hovering, the difference is that you do not get kicked from the game and have to wait 5 minutes. It locks you in on a character you were thinking about at least.
I agree that if you do not select a champion period, it should kick you instead of randomly picking one for you, but making it mandatory to lock in your character appears to be causing more trouble in que than serving it's intended purpose. Plus, if somebody is completely afk, they wouldn't be there to even enter into champion select.
its one thing for ban but not lock in champion if youre not there to lock in youre not ready to play

I am ready to play. I just forgot to push a button and got punished for it.

then pay attention the game gives you plenty of time to lock in
