Would people rather have longer Queue times, or get autofilled?

Just curious. Personally I don't mind waiting. I wonder what the majority opinion is though.

I would rather wait an extra ten or fifteen minutes in queue than play a 20+ game in a role I don't enjoy.

It's not like I can't watch some youtube or eat a snack while I'm waiting.

Since I tend to read, browser or watch videos while waiting in queue, I would have no issues waiting for a longer queue if it meant a higher quality game.

Same, id easily be fine with waiting an extra 5-10 min if it means i will actually enjoy the game instead of playing a role i dont like and getting flamed because im not very good at it.

Playing the game in a way you don't like isn't fun. That's why people with a queue time that matters, can simply have a second game going. :)

Playing the game in a way you don't like isn't fun. That's why people with a queue time that matters, can simply have a second game going. :)

enjoy your one game a day then bye! teambuilder was taken out because NO ONE was having fun waiting 20+ mins to get into a group! that's not even counting getting into a game or finding a full group! sorry but you can spew all you want. Teambuilder was terrible in the end and people are going to just end up feeling exactly the same because they can't be assed to learn the basics of a role and playing that role ONCE every once in a while. But nope! it's better to whine and complain about something that is not an issue than to actually put any amount of effort at all

Longer queue times. Hell my queue times are pushing the bloody 4 minute mark even with this autofill stuff.

You see, the issue here is that, with autofill, the wonderful members of the community throw tantrums when they don't get the role they want. You know what they do therefore? They dodge. By dodging (especially when they wait until they are the absolute last person to pick), they have effectively wasted anywhere from 3-5 minutes in the champion selection screen. So, the real question is this: do you want to wait for 5 minutes, and inevitably get the role you want, or wait for 10 minutes and possibly get the role you want?

Who in their right mind would answer autofill xD

Autofill needs some tweaking, like giving those who are autofilled later pick, and doing a quick pass once they make a game to make sure everyone has the best possible outcome in role choice, but I don't mind it. Most of the people who complain about autofill just can't handle different roles. League is all about adapting, and it doesn't make any sense if you can't adapt to a different position.

Longer que times, easily. Maybe then Riot would do what they said they'd do- remove Flex (dynamic), replace it with a 5v5 que, and que times would then be shorter without any need for autofill.

if longer queue times happen in both queues then riot isn't going to get rid of flex queue. If flex queue itself has an stupidly long queue time then that's when they will replace it with 5v5s so solo/duo queue really isn't going to get that much better queue times if they already had terrible ones

once again no, if queue times are long only in Solo/Duo then why would they replace flex queue? if flex queue itself has a long queue time then yes they will replace it but at that point even if flex queue has a long queue time along with solo/duo queue then you aren't going to get much improvement on the queue times

well if you follow what boards is going then "most" would rather have longer queue times... and then when they experience longer queue times most of those who said that they wouldn't mind would come here to bitch and complain about how long queue times actually are... so this is not really a question since pretty much most people will just answer in whether or not they hate autofill and not on whether or not they actually want longer queue times

We already know the answer the community gave. They would pick longer queue times (as they did in all of season 6). And to top it off "fill" became synonymous with support as did "secondary support" due to the shortage of supports.

Fewer people in general wanted to play the position (which was the case in season 5 since being last pick meant support):
Since fewer people wanted to play it, those that only wanted to play it occasionally kept getting it
Those that played it as a secondary kept getting it all the time
This then led those that did not mind playing support "sometimes" abandoning the role COMPLETELY because they kept getting it
This then led to fewer supports in general and longer queues
Riot came to the solution "autofill" to fix the shortage of supports, always being "filled" to support, and having a "secondary" support role turning into the primary role for players.

It is quite simply why autofill exists: it is because players kept opting out of support when given the choice. So it is unsurprising that most of the community would want autofill removed, their behavior over all of season 6 is the main reason autofill existed.

I am fine with the change, but I play support as a secondary. I was really tired of having to pick "top" and "mid" in order to get top. And in the outside chance that I got "mid" I would typically lose the game. I think it is a reasonable solution and anyone complaining about it are either newer players (started playing in season six and didn't have pick order) OR they were conditioned to ONLY play their main role and they have trouble playing other roles well.
