I swear to God guys...

... if you tell me how playing support or my main support requires no skill and means I do absolutely nothing while you guys "single-handedly carry me," then I will support another lane.

Like seriously stop. I didn't solo queue my way up to plat as a support main simply by being carried to a 64% winrate on my main support. Ugh.

"But where are yo kills... clearly it's all me" - ADC :P As a support main, I love the tendency to blame the support for shit going south, and taking all the credit for cleaning up the kills.

If an ADC is being an asshole to me saying how they don't need me and are simply carrying me, then I let them play by him or herself in bot lane. If he or she really does not need me, then I can go and support other lanes.

The best part is when right after I start to go to another lane to roam, they ping at me to get back to bot lane saying they now are only doing poorly cause I abandoned him or her. Oh, so now you need me?

I had an ADC complain once that I went to support Mid when they backed. "You should be connected to me at the hip!" he said. "Never ****ing leave me alone again! You support me!!"

I told him, "No, I support the team."

When I play ADC I try to make sure I am reasonably polite to my support. ADC is actually very stressful and when you play something like Jinx it becomes painfully clear how helpless you are when the enemy adc and support are trying to seige the turret you are trying to defend without the support there to back you up. So, I do try to stress the fact I need the support near me for a considerable amount of time but I try not to be a dick about it because they are NEEDED.

Amasa Delano1 votes

Absolutely. I support the ADC first (i.e. at the beginning), but if you are bot farming away happily by yourself while the enemy support roams mid, or while mid is overextending himself and the enemy bot and support are backing, I trust you to keep yourself safe while I go help someone else out.

Thank you so much for being nice to your support! Polite ADCs make my day/week/etc.

Yeah, supports take a ton of skill and coordination with your team. I always respect support mains, and I know that they help carry in their own way. Thanks dude.

Except for Blitzcrank . Fuck that guy.

My favorite is when they bring up KDA and they're like 0/4, LOL. I'm so glad you ignored the 15 assists, jackass.

Mig893 votes

Right. or when you're 0/2/9 at the end of a game and they tell you you suck when there were only 11 kills from your team total. in a win. This happened to me before and because our adc was 7/4 i think with one assist they treated him like a god and i was just helping him. Never mind that because of my cc the team got all their kills. It's real hard to auto attack a champ when im chain cc'ing both bot laners as leona...

I agree with this. I've recently been playing a lot of support Poppy. I had adc smashed against the wall, stunned, and the adc is still farming while she is down to one bar of health and gets away. When I told my adc to target their adc "did u see how much damage they did by poking me im just playing passive and farming" could've had a kill!!!!

I feel as a support I rely on other players more though because I don't do as much damage and need to roam jg every now and then to ward. It makes it a million times harder to get out of the elo hell.

When I get an ADC like that, I generally just roam more.

By roam more I mean I don't come back to bot lane for a good 10 min. That ADC is hopeless.

I play mostly jungle but I also like to support, both roles have the issue of being blamed first. I know the support does most of the work in bot lane.

DænariusKhølerin1 votes

I feel like Jungle gets it the worst. Even though I do not have one pvp jungle game, I really feel the Jungler when he gets flamed but he wasn't even on that side of the map, lol.

RookPusher1 votes

Are ya serious? I'd gladly take the verbal abuse if I didn't spend all game saving their asses and getting them out of the jungle.

Please! Carry me! Any of you!

Aír1 votes

Usually I spend the game saving their asses and handing them kills. Then they act like I had nothing to do with it.

But hey, if my ADC says he does not need me then fine. I will go support another lane that may appreciate it.

The best part is when they start pinging not even a minute later saying that I was making him lose by leaving him alone bot lane. Oh, so now you need me, huh?

RookPusher1 votes

The thing is, you're assigned a role now. So you can make adjustments that don't brutalize the game. Give the support far more latitude on assists until you can figure out a reasonable system. They're still not going to give us all the assists we deserve.

If you're the parent of a child, and you feed and clothe them for 18 years, no ones going to say you did nothing when your child's a neurosurgeon. To that end, it's not my fault it took the ADC and jungle a full minute to kill them. I was there, and I did my part. Where's my assist?

Aír3 votes

My role is a support. A support for my team.

So I will support my team, not just my ADC. Especially an ADC who is toxic and hopelessly ignorant. And hey, if that ADC does not need me anymore to babysit him, then I can get other lanes fed. I got a team to support.

o wow you auto attacked slowed ulted as nautilus and did half their hp because they are squishy and won the lane.

Last night in a norms I was practicing Alistar support. The enemy Gangplank was salty all game telling my team how bad we were (i ganked him a couple times mid and he was getting pretty salty about it). Game went over 50 mins and my team ended up winning. Towards the end he said something along the lines of "at least you have a good support".

Felt so good.

I honestly feel like I hard carried that game. Even got the S- in a 50+ min game as support. Was fun. Only one game, but might start playing Alistar more.

Mig891 votes

I had an adc tell me yesterday that it was my job to ward and keep him safe while he focused on tunnel vision. I went top lane while continuing to call out jg location and danger ping when i seen a gank coming. We snowballed top and won that game quickly while my adc hardly had any farm and was stuck under tower. This was all due to us getting ganked sometime after my second ward went away and she told me it wasnt her job to ward while she had two in her inventory.

Aír1 votes

You did the right thing.

Mig891 votes

Oh I know, THe Illaoi i helped snowball was doing some work. I went back to the lane at around the 15 minute point and since i got the gold off of assists top i was able to pressure the botlane with our ADC and take a tower before roaming again.

there is a reason I run bruser runes on my Leona, if they wont take the kill I'm setting up, it will be my kill.

QjTHqo3RTq1 votes

I'm typically out of lane by 6 if they say shit like that, I'll go support whatever lane has the most offensive stats, and work on getting them fed.

Papa Slothy1 votes

wait, who is ur main support. I tried looking at match history n u play a wide variety from viegar to yorick :^)

i fukin love yorick

Aír1 votes

Tbh, my main support is Soraka and she is the main one I am comfy with. Other than that it is Janna and Naut. :3

Yorick I picked up recenty. Got him to lvl 7 cause MM said he would gift me Pentakill Yorick if I did. :D

I am an ADC main and I have mad respect for supports. While I'm still learning and am by no means a phenomenal ADC, a good support means all the difference between me leading the team or going 4/10/2. I think I love the ADC position for that reason itself. Sure, I get to make a bunch of kills late game, but it absolutely requires teamwork, and I like the feeling of having synergy with my support. I don't even mind if they get the kills. It's the most stressful lane and we're (hopefully) working equally.

The only time I get mad at a support is when they abandon me in the laning phase... or if they think they are some brawler tank and tower dive while I'm just trying to waveclear and keep our turret alive. I like to push, sure, but when a support plays more aggressive than the carry, it usually ends up just feeding the enemy carry and RIP bot.
