Placed Silver 5 Despite Having No Skill

So I did my placements a few days ago, did absolutely terribly as expected, and went 2:8. Despite that, Riot placed me in Silver 5. Now every ranked game I play I get flamed and reported by my teammates because they can't believe that someone could possibly be so bad at the game. Why didn't I just get placed at Bronze 5 or maybe Bronze 4? At least there I'd be among people at my skill level. Instead, I have to lose the game for hundreds of players before the game realizes that I'm not as good as it thinks I am.

Can we please stop placing first time ranked players in such high ELOs? It isn't fair for the more established players, and it isn't fair for us new players. It just makes the game more toxic than it already was.

Most people are low silver ish statistically speaking, so starting people lower would result in every more grumbling from unfair matches in low elo where new players are stomping on the bronze folk.

Keep in mind you're matched based on mmr and not on rank though, so even though you might be silver 5 rank, you may well have a bronze mmr (if you're gaining less than 20 LP for wins that'd be an indication you actually have bronze mmr right now), so you may not be as far out of place as you think.

edit: I will say I am surprised you ended in s5 rather than high bronze. Still, mmr is what really matters. You could in principle be a b4 mmr player in silver 5, as demoting tiers is really hard.

A new player with 2 8 in placements should have been put in bronze. He's not wrong

I got better over the years of playing, was mostly a silver support lol but last season they put me in bronze (I usually only play the 10 matches at the start and stop) I'm still finishing up this years 10 matches and Im sure it'll put me in like bronze 5 this time or some BS like that
