Urgot has toxic gameplay patterns that needs to be addressed assap

This is just scary that he was left in current state for so long. Where is riot's "juggernaut should be unmobile and easy to kite"?

  1. He has poke with no mana cost on Q that is ranged and has huge slow.

  2. He has ranged auto attacks that additionally are aoe and have max% hp PHYSICAL dmg that benefit from black cleaver passive that is just item literally made for this champion.

  3. His shield that has too high base shield as well as scalings and literally makes it another press key to win champion, deals retarded amount of damage and is up right after one ends. Riven v2 in more cancerous version.

  4. He has hard CC and displacment as well as mobility tool with low cooldown.

  5. Toxic trades pattern. As meele champ you can forget about doing anything to prevent him from flipping you. You can't even trade nor farm because he has a toxic pattern of throwing you behind in his minions immediately popping shield that was for no reason buffed and cant be interrupted by CC anymore, dealing dmg from it as well, hitting Q and safely disengaging while you are slowed trying to run away from 32424 creeps hitting you. Did I mention he can also easily body block you (which for some reason is a thing that never was before in lol) while having shield up so you stay for even more dmg and cant retaliate.

  6. Last but not least, very balanced ultimate that is literally undodgable unless you are a prophet. And of course he can also use his ult earlier and just chunk you down to amount of hp needed for execute and still use the execute which is another bullsht mechanic. Riot buffed missle speed for no reason. It allows 0 counterplay. And of all this he builds just HP items and is still impossible to kill regardless. Literally black cleaver, steraks and tank items and he oneshots your adc and bruisers/fighters/divers or whatever that is not a full tank and doesnt lose a single bit of HP during that. Who the hell worked on that rework? Defenitely not someone sane. You don't even need to be good at this game to make an impcat with this champion. You win laning phase by default and can't be stopped unless its the whole team 5v1 collapsing on you. You can't put him behind because his base damage as well as scalings are off charts.

  • First of all. Nerf his base dmg on Q. It has 70% AD scaling already and you build items that has AD anyway. From 25 / 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 to 25/50/100/130/160 at least. Or nerf his slow for a static value of 25% at best.

  • Nerf either shield cooldown or it's damage and revert the change so his shield and firing is again a channel and can completely cancel his W with hard CC. From 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 sec to 20/19/18/17/16/15. Urgot rushes BC and usually has 40% cdr in the mid game already. DMG from 12 (+ 20 / 24 / 28 / 32 / 36% AD) to 12(+15/18/21/24/27% AD). It is a point and click ability that gives you a shield so no reason for it to deal so much damage.Either this or shield cooldown.

  • Nerf cooldown of his E from 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 to 24/22/20/18/16. Again he builds a lot of CDR. He needs to be vurnerable in lane and has his CC (which in juggernauts design should not exist) on high cooldown so he cant cc and trade you and then few moments later run away from a jungler that runs to help you.

  • Nerf his ult missle speed. Its currently fking 3200 with god damn 1600 range which also is ridiculous. That means the drill hits the max range in half a second. It's already hard to dodge as hitbox is completely broken. Only flash can possibly save you, but only at max range as 0,5 a second is enough to flash away at max range (mobility spell wont help you will get hit before it casts and after it casts you are marked), but defenitely undodgeable in any closer range. In meele range its less than 0,01 sec of reaction time you have. Reaction time of good player might be around 0,1s at best. Its ridiculous to think you can dodge his ult and also considering you just got slowed for a huge amount, inside a creep wave I doubt that without a flash you can dodge it. You can't engage him in lane either cause he chooses when he wants to trade. He will just pop shield slow you with Q, and safely disengage. While your cooldowns will be defenitely longer he can already engage before your are up and get a free trade.

Additionally with new runes, he picks up comet and his poke is even stronger. considering a lot of cdr in his builds he can also use Transcendence and get even more AD. Second tree is a tree of choice. Inspiration is rather not an option, but to make him even more immortal - resolve is just perfect for him. Considering his shields are up a lot, you can get Second wind for healing during trades so even if you somehow get dmg when your shield is for a short moment not available you heal up during shield soaking up dmg a second later. Plus iron skin/mirror shell depending on a match up. Or if needed conditioning. He can as well take domination tree for cheap shot. He will proc it a lot and ravenous hunter so he is even more unkillable. For precision tree he can always pick up tenacity stacking, which further improves his survavibility so even CC wont be usefull vs him and the second choice is basically whatever. There is literally nothing you can do. To stop him. He synergizes with everything and has got no flaws of usual juggernaut.

You're just complaining to complain. I have won and lost against Urgot and as Urgot. He is not some god champion. His poke isn't that great. His ranged autos are barely ranged. His shield is what enables him him to do anything. His mobility is a 16 down to 12 second cooldown, are you telling me 16 seconds is a low cooldown?

You lost lane, get over it.

Oh, here we go again. Somebody voices their dissatisfaction with a champion, op this, op that, then proceeds to describe their kit. If you want to prove (based on anecdotal evidence mind you) that a champion is busted, this is not the way to do it.

Let's go through your points.

  1. His q has been significanly buffed, but it still eats your mana, and can be dodged. Think of it like pantheon. He can spam his spears throughout the lane all the time, but he still runs out of resources, where he's much more vulnerable.

  2. Urgot's passive is the prime example of a double edged blade. You can do massive aoe damage with it, and due to the %hp damage, it's still just as effective when playing from behind, but in order to proc 4 or even 3 of your knees, you have to put yourself in a certain position. You don't have the freedom of going wherever you want, you have to go into a certain direction to maximize the effectiveness of your passive. Secondly, it autopushes, which can be exploited. Thirdly, at early levels, leg damage is very low, and leg cooldown is very high. You can exploit that massively. Fourthly, he has to lock onto you to target you with his W, which is his main source for proccing knees. If you can not get hit by his abilities, you can easily bait him into a now unfavorable trade, and punish the heck out of him.

  3. With W activated, Urgot loses a significant portion of his movement speed, which again, makes him an easy target. Also, allow me to refer back to the earlier "lock" point. Don't get hit by his Q or E (which is a lot easier than you might think), and you're going to be just fine. He won't be shooting you with W, unless you're up in his face. Also, consider buying tabi and/or bramble vest.

  4. CC and displacement is the same thing, you're just making stuff up to make him sound more overloaded than he is. But aside from that, if you consider urgot's E a mobility skill, i don't know what the hell you're smoking. It has a delay, it can't go through walls, it's abysmally short, and can be seen a mile away. The only way an urgot should be able to hit E on you, if he's already in your face. If you get hit by his E in any other situation, you can only blame yourself.

  5. You're making up a hypothetical situation where urgot actually excels. Wow, he hit his E on you and rekt you? Next you're going to tell me that karthus killed a bunch of people with less than 100 hp! Dodge. The. Skills. Urgot's E is quite difficult to get hit by.

  6. His ult is only useful if you actually manage to get to around 30% health. Now, there are two ways to avoid this. Either go back when you're low, (which is just common sense against any champ) or don't get into trades where he has the upper hand. And aside from that, dodge his god damn ult! It's pretty fast, but it still has a considerable cast time. Actually it's much easier to dodge urgot ult in meelee range, because you can cover a bigger angle in less distance, making him missing his ult much more of a possibility.

The only nerf you're proposing that makes any kind of sense is the E cooldown one, but even then, urgot is far from needing a nerf. And also, the rest of your points are just stupid. Urgot can't build Sterak's anymore, saying that juggernauts shouldn't have cc is just idiotic, etcetera etcetera.

At the end of the day, urgot is just a regular juggernaut with a range slapped on him, and he does possess the weaknesses of a regular juggernaut. His limited movement, kiteability, health stacking without resists (so he's more vulnerable to % damage), and the lack of burst or significant poke.

So, if Urgot is as broken as you say, why he has zero bans/picks on pro play?

BeatzBoyFTW1/17/2018, 1:15:45 PM2 votes

This whole thread is just pure cries & whimper. So you got rekt by an Urgot after 1000 games of not fighting against him, that's where you draw the line & start making this QQ thread?

What's worse is that according to your top champions played & your Match History, Camille is nowhere to be seen in records til a month ago, so I assume you were pretty much 1st timing Camille in a Ranked game.

And you still think you have rights to talk about balancing Urgot...?

  1. He has an ultimate that makes him untargetable and causes all of his damage to essentially increased by 45%.
  2. He has a free Flash on his W that also causes him to double his abilities and poke from a long distance away in lane so he can play safe or extremely aggressive.
  3. His Q pierces through minions, so no matter where you are standing you can be hit by it as long as he is in range, which is huge thanks to his W.
  4. His Passive just gives him extra free magic damage on his basic attacks against low health targets, making him take less skill to last hit and finish off enemies.
  5. His R comes with a free escape that also doubles his abilities like his W.
  6. His E is an instant AoE nuke, letting him CS and poke easily.
  7. He gets free stats from his R.
  8. He uses Energy, so he doesn't have to worry about resources when poking in lane, which is already really good poke.

I just described Zed's kit. You just described Urgot's kit. Now it's clear why both need nerfs right?

He is right.

Alrighty, time to throw in my 2 cents here.

  1. 50 mana may not seem like much, but for someone who shouldn't build much mana (only items he could POSSIBLY build that give mana and would be good on him are item 3025 item 3110 even then he should not rush them) it can drain his mana pool fast when coupled with his w and e's mana cost. Also Its damage isn't anything super when he's not maxing it (Maxing w is SO much better), I will agree the slow can be a Tad annoying at times, but he needs it so he can get in range for an e.

  2. Urgots range is 350, and while that is considered ranged, its nothing compared to the likes of Gnar or Teemo, also the damage from his passive isn't anything super early on, also yes, black cleaver is amazing on him, but its also amazing on pretty much all other juggernauts.

  3. Now, this is something I tend to hear a lot, yes, the shield is big, so you gotta respect the thing, when he activates purge, the best option is to back off, he can out damage most lanes with it, but without it, he can't trade overly well (Unless you have no health), and as for the damage part, that ties in with respecting it again, it will deal a huge amount of damage if you stay in his range too long, so back off when he uses it and engage when its on cooldown.

  4. All he has for hard cc is a flip and his ultimates suppression (In which he cannot do anything but move), and its not like other juggernauts don't have no cc either (Don't get me started with Nasus w or Darius pull/W, thats a whole different can of worms). Also, 16 seconds is pretty brutal early on, especially if he misses it, which if he's engaging (Not counter engaging, its fairly easy to hit that way), he has a decent chance of missing, and since its such a powerful aspect to his kit, take advantage of it when he misses it.

  5. Most melee's have some method of mobility/ some way to get away from his flip, its also fairly telegraphed (You can see him wind up for a moment), anyone with a dash can avoid it, If you do end up getting flipped, use any other dash/light or hard cc to get away from him, and when his purge has finished, go back in on him and he should lose the trade if you know what you're doing.

  6. His ult is very powerful, I will admit, however, it isn't unavoidable, similar to his e, you can see him wind up for a moment before he fires, use a dash or your flash to avoid it. In regards to the speed, yes, its fast, but if he's point blanking it (which he should be most of the time), speed really dosent matter, you still should have enough time to react if he fires it from a long range.

Suggested nerf:

  1. Nerving the base damage would cause Urgot hell in poke lanes (Gnar, Teemo, Panth), it would give him little opportunity to fight back since its a living nightmare to try to land an e on a ranged top. As for the slow nerf you suggested, it would make landing an e harder since a 25% slow isn't anything super, most people could still move out of e range with the slow applied.

  2. No, absolutely no, it would make it way too damn easy to counter him, pick anyone with even a glimmer of hard cc and bam, you win lane, Purge is the most important part of his kit, and nerving it would hurt him greatly, It already has a fairly high cooldown early on, a 20 second cooldown would kill him by allowing him little access to his main source of damage. Also, the damage nerf you suggested are tied in with the whole respecting the spell thing again, if you stand in it for its whole duration and die, you deserve it. Also, saying his w is a point and click is a lie, if he misses all his spells and there are minions in range, he will shoot the minions and not you.

  3. Again, as i have said before, he needs this spell to trade, but I don't want to sound like a broken record here. A 16 second cold spell later on won't probably even surpass 10 seconds (I may be wrong here, feel free to check), which would hurt him in fights since its his method of mobility, and using it to counter an engage would give him no escape.

  4. This part probably made the most sense of the entire post, I do agree that the ult is a little fast, but still, you can see him wind up, you should be able to flash it, or dodge it with a dash.

Also, why would you ever take comet on Urgot? Aftershock, Glaical augment, hell even press the attack is better on the man then comet.

Anyways thats all I have to say, hope it helped even a little.

Edit: I took a look at you're most recent game, and to nobodies surprise, you got stomped by an Urgot, even after first blooding him mind you. Camille is not a good pick into Urgot, He can counter her engage extremely well and her ultimate provides no use into him, since he enjoys tight spaces where its easy to get his spells off. Finally, All you invested in for defensive items was tabi, while it is effective, you need more then that if you fall behind, consider picking up more armor next time.

op was correct in talking about urgot issues before people realized how broken he is, op was wrong in posting and expecting meaningful response on league forums, checking quick opggs the rating doesn't go above silver in this thread

I don't like Urgot for his Ult, makes a HP tank such a Cho kind meaningless as less than 25% HP regardless of what that actually is and you are dead but Urgot's not that great. Had a great match vs one the other day. I picked Rammus into him and bought Bramble Vest first item. Anytime he flipped me, I'd just press W (was maxing this first) and slowly walk away while he killed himself, it was hilarious yet painful to watch.
