As a Nami main, people always ask for either Braum or Ali or Annie and are generally never satisfied when I pick Nami no matter how many Bubbles I land people don't think she's strong enough to be picked.
Is she too weak? Too strong? Does she need the % lower scaling per Bounce on W lowered? Maybe the q speed buffed or the hotbox cleared up?
Ive stopped playing her because of sheer flame you get in champ select.....
I don't see why anyone would flame you. I've never had anyone flame me for picking Nami, only a couple request a tank support at most. If you are good at her and want to play her, do it, and ignore the naysayers. She seems pretty well balanced right now to me, and even has lots of build options compared to last season.
I see you like maxing Q first; I highly recommend W > E > Q priority instead, and I've personally found more success with Utility/AP builds over defense in most situations.
Nami was paraded as one of the most Balanced Supports around a while back, although if anything she is a little bit strong right now. She currently possesses one of the most rounded kits in the game, giving her a "Jack of all trades, master of none" playstyle, where she is good at Healing, Poking, CC, Peeling, but doesn't excel in any of these fields. She's more or less a superior form of Karma, or at least what Karma could be if she were a proper enchanter. She's not in need of any immediate touch ups though. Nami is a higher skill cap support to excel welly in, and her "Master of None" aspect doesn't make her all too appealing in regards to other supports. I max her abitlity W, Q, E, W , Q, W, Q etc. As it balances out her mana costs significantly.
When I get tired of waiting 15 mins in queue I take fill and end up with support 95% of the time. The only support i play then is Nami and I never had anyone complain about it.
I think she is pretty balanced atm, her laning is pretty good and she also can peel well for your adc if you land your Qs.
She is top 5 pick rate in Plat+ for NA and EUW servers for support.
