Just got flamed for buying Manamune on Ezreal

while in the same game I was told Trinity Force was 'core' on Nasus and should be bought 'every game'.

I don't think I've ever been so frustrated by the wrong-ness of LoL players.

I'm not sure what I wanted out of this discussion. I guess typing the things that made me angry helped relieve some frustration.

Not a nasus player but pretty sure Trinity is core. I don't see why you'd build frozen gauntlet on him (unless I guess full AD enemy team), nor do I see the option to build neither.

Trinity Force shouldn't even be a consideration, ever. You get guaranteed damage from your Q, so there's no excuse to not build 6 defensive items. IceBorn Gauntlet is better in every situation because the Sheen Proc has a Slow component, it gives CDR, and has better defensive stats.

I don't see how the slow helps when he already has the strongest slow in the game. With TF you get speed which helps get into range but again IDK not a nasus player, I just don't see the slow on FG being very useful for him.

You literally don't need either of those Items. His siphon strike stacks up so well, that you can do good damage while building tank.

I love building a Bloodthirster on Nasus actually simply for the fact that it makes your effective HP enormous. Have you got a Spirit Visage? Well then you have 48% lifesteal.

Yes. 48% Lifesteal With his Q that deals something like 800+damage in the late game and minions that have 0 armor and are just sacks of hp waiting to be collected.

Seriously, I had a fight one time where I ended up low against an enemy and was running, turned and Qed a minion and healed for like 650 life thanks to BT, SV, Innate, and Second Wind passive

Nasus' damage scales endlessly, he will eventually get there and above. Compared to that Trinity doesn't add much damage.

Nasus should instead get all the defenses he can, so he keeps alive and collect stacks. Armor is generally best, so he can take down Turrets. Also IG helps with clear.

The only time I would take Trinity is if your team is ahead and trying to end quickly, but usually that's not why you pick Nasus.

There are more optimal ways, man.

I want to believe (or hope) that OP's trying to say that we should be free to build as we want without being verbally abused. Constructive criticism (ex: "I'd suggest buying Trinity Force," or "I wouldn't recommend Manamune on Ezreal") should be the norm, not "Only tards buy [item] on [champion]."

Not great at the game and just started playing Nasus but i can't imagine NOT have TF. Sure with decent enough stacks you can Q the adc and take them to 25% hp. But combo of sheen damage and phage passive you can actually keep up with enemies when wither is down while doing a massive amount of extra damage. You don't suffer as much from being an immobile tank being kited by the adc.
