Stacking doran's rings feels like it gives too many stats

I'm laning against a Galio i've got MR blues, health yellows, a null magic mantle, rejuv bead, and a negatron cloak and he's still doing nearly 1/4 of my health through my sheild when he lands a dash Q, i'm not even standing in this for more than half a second mind you, i'm pathing out of Winds of War as soon as he fires it.

So why the hell is item 1056 so good now?? What happened that made it the go-to item for nearly any tank nowadays? Before anyone says, "Wait for the buffs to Sion sheild, it's effectively being doubled," sure but what about literally every other champ that gets fucked by this item even when they buy nothing but MR as well?

I'm not even saying it's broken but it feels oppressive as all hell.

The main problem is that Doran's Ring is ridiculously stackable and has stats that scale with level.

Galio is just strong as heck in lane

It depends on that champ. Got reworked galio it offers him massive refunds cause of clear speed, a little extra dmg even though he has a great Q ratio but high base damage everything else, and his kit synergies well with health. So it's three birds with one stone for him. It also works well for nautilus, swain and some others. Galio and Naut arent really item dependant right now and thats ehy there are abuse cases like them.

45 AP adds some damage but the mana sustain it gives is probably more powerful and more important to allow the champion to use the abilities more often (which is great for tanks who often have high base damages) and it also gives 180 HP (30 more than item 1028 )

The issue with Galio and DR is that Galio's mana costs are laughably low, and the mana return from DR is better for champions with low mana costs than champions with high mana costs.

It was always good, professional players just made it more popular.

It is slightly oppressive yes. It's very gold-efficient and you can just sell it back and only lose 220 gold?.

the problem is Galio, not stacking dorans rings. He chunks a lot of champions down with one Q because of the % hp damage on top of the base damage... why does he need both?

They changed him from a tank to a literal AP bruiser, and that is definitely not cool.

What happened that made it the go-to item for nearly any tank nowadays?

Tanks needed a replacement for Sunfire Cape so they could push/poke/trade in lane.

The mana sustain is ridiculous for the price; the health and AP are just bonuses.
